Cards news: Sept. 18 -- Berry and Marlins' Banuelos suspended for fisticuffs
St. Louis Cardinals OF/1B Jacob Berry and Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Manny Banuelos have been suspended after exchanging blows during the eighth inning of a 5-2 Rays' victory on Sept. 17.
Berry charged the mound after being hit by a Banuelos pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning -- the previous hitter, Nolan Gorman had homered -- leading to a bench-clearing brawl. Berry will have to sit for three games. Banuelos will be lost for six. |
