G305 Kicks Off

Brigadoon jumps to an early lead in Gold OL play

It'll be a pretty quiet season in gold, with most teams playing only between 13-20 games vs OL opponents.

Wow... Coney Island is dominating in OL play: 8-4 vs. OL teams. In other play, eh... not so much... 3-11 vs. non-OL teams. Interesting... if they bring the force and tenacity that they bring to OL matchups to all their games, just think what they can become!

Ha. Well, BFF teams are generally stronger than normal teams. But, they are ftp too, so that's good.

Gotta say I was a bit skeptical about spending the time and points on the live missions (originally just planned to fill them out as I landed cards from the random packs I'd pick up from tourneys or CM games); but decided to give them a shot.... just finished up the last one... and while most of the reward cards don't fit the team theme, the funds they've brought in so far have helped boost the Syrups.... kept the 94 Ted Lyons, the 93 Mel Ott and the Perfect Berra (yeah, he's technically not pre-ww2 old timey, but he's old timey enough )... working on selling most of the rest...

already sold some rewards and converted them into Jack Stivetts, Charlie Buffinton, Sam Thompson, Deacon White, George Grantham (got him from a gold pack reward), and Larry Doyle (historic pack pull)...

still looking to sell the Maddux, Johnson, Yaz, Cartlon, Piazza, Tulo and Matthews; so that should hopefully bring in a nice chunk to the war chest.

so... yeah... the live missions are worth the effort, even if you won't use 90% of the reward cards

I am in the middle of thinking of doing the same team. I dont want the same SE players that everyone else has. I may keep a few after I get them all but I will be selling the rest and getting similar players to fit my team. This Yankees LIVE mission is starting to mirror the White Sox with Silvers going for much higher than L7.

I'll post an Iron update since I'm bored.

Otonokizaka Muse 5-1 (.833)
Asheboro Road Dogs 5-4 (.555)
Daytona Beach Tortugas 3-3 (.500)
Hartford Whalers 1-2 (.333)
Vlora White Stallions 1-5 (.167)
Sierra Vista Scorpions 0-0 (.000)

If I feel up to it later I'll update it with OL games remaining.

Left Coast, Waffletown Tied Atop OL S255

The LabRats and Syrup both have played minimal schedules, but each is slated for at least a dozen this month, so the chase begins in earnest.

In PT, OL is faring well, with Bluffton leading the NC east, Left Coast the NC west, Terra Incognita leading the NC wild card, with Waffletown 1/2 game out, and Norwood 4-1/2 out. Port Ruppert leads the AC wild card.

Please Post Logos

Please post your team's preferred logo for crowns, etc. Clipping them from the game usually yields poor results. I have most, but if you're fairly new, and are not sure if you put it up, please do. Both Norwood teams, for sure, and I have no doubt there are a few others. Thanks.

Bronze 202 Rep....zzzzz

The six OL teams in Bronze 202 have been almost perfectly placed to limit competition between OL teams, with only Hooterville and K-Town sharing a division.

Thus far, only 4 OL games have been played. It looks like their WILL be a championship, as the teams will each eventually face each other the requisite number of times. Just not yet.

Do you have the Boomerangs logo. I am at work right now, but can post when I get home if you need it.

I do indeed have it. I have pretty nearly all the graphics for OL from PT 19 on, from logos to crowns to wrap-ups to Super Fan Willie sightings, so if you posted in the past, you're good.

I spaced out on the Gold standings today (I must have been put into a tizzy by the tournament pack I won that had not one... not two... but 3 bronze cards in it!!).

Will have an update tomorrow AM.

If you want to call them the Tiny Bubbles, I have a great picture of Don Ho ready to roll.

sold off the others and converted them into 97-Old Hoss Radbourn; 99-Tommy Bond, and 100-Joe Gordon....

Waffletown fans are looking forward to watching the new acquisitions in the second half, and hope the team as a whole stays as hot as the summer temps
