Where the file is depends on where you installed it. So, back to the Main Page of OOTP before you choose the type of game to play. Settings. Troubleshooting tab. Click the button for "open folder containing customizable data" and then the fg_files folder there.

I assume you didn't move the game post-installation. You just installed in on your D: drive?

Yeah, I didn't touch anything post-installation. I installed game in:


D:\OOTP


and fg_files is located in:


D:\OOTP\data\fg_files


confirmed in the Troubleshooting screen/Customized Data

So I renamed original fg_files directory to something else to preserve that data, deleted the contents of the fg_files directory, and then I loaded your pack into the fg_files directory.

50,272 files in there.

Search your computer for fried-001max.fg I want to see if only one file is on your computer or two. I want to see where the 6000 ones that ship with the game go.

So in your OOTP/data folder are /ballcaps folder, the /socks folder, the /database folder, the /fg_files folder... all of that?

They are both file size 178,648 bytes, but yours has a date of 3/12/2023, whereas the original has a date of 9/18/2025.

Renaming it should have been sufficient. Cut it and move it to the Desktop for now. Then create a historical game in 1978 and let's look at Reggie and Munson. It's harder these days since OOTP actually ships with some of those historic guys but I think Reggie and Munson are not under a license atm. As soon as the 1978 game loads, go to Facegen tab in Game settings and toggle the first line to "None". Keep that toggle that was by the baseball cards and suits, on.

P.S. Searched the entire tree from d:\ootp downward. Also, checked my C: drive, in case the installation somehow stores stuff there.

Or we could do 2001 as Bonds is never licensed.

OK, I pruned the fg_file_org directory and removed it. Loaded 1978, and set settings up as you described, and both Munson and Reggie come up fictional.

Looks like Reggie and Thurmon may ship with the game so definitely try Bonds as the test. It is the SFG version of his face

With none, it should be blank if it can't find them, never fictional.

Yes, no other subfolders, and the fg_files folder is at same level as all the other folders, under d:\ootp\data.

Bonds still comes up fictional......again, when I mouse-over he is initially grey with no face, and then automatically shows up as fictional.
