Same pitcher as the post above, this time he threw a 2 hit shut out, and got 3 hits batting himself. That's the first time I've seen a pitcher have more hits than he gave up.

While not a single game thing, in the X beta, I ran a 560 year simulation and came across one guy that in his 1st 12 seasons, he had won 12 gold gloves and made the all-star game 12 times. He also won the Chow Yung Award 11 times. (It was a Japan League and the is what I called the Cy Young Award).

This isn't a single game, but I had a shortstop named Bill Rivers in my last league before my hard drive crashed; under normal settings, he posted a .430 OB% in 1995 despite only batting .246. He had 143 BB and only 57 SO.

I recently simmed a game with the 2007 Phillies that featured 12 home runs, including back-to-back-to-back in one inning. In another inning, a team hit two in a row, got struck out, then hit another HR...

My league just had a game where a team won 17-0. Losing team only had 2 hits but the fun part is ...
The winning team had TWO players hit for the cycle. (at work, but screenshots to follow) |

This just happened in my historical replay dynasty. On June 25th, 1889, both teams had a player hit for the cycle in the same game!
Cleveland beat Philadelphia 13-12 in 10 innings. Philadelphia's Ed McKean went 5-6 and Cleveland's Wilbert Robinson went 6-6 with his triple coming in the 10th inning as he also scored the winning run then! Quite an accomplishment indeed!

Edgar Martinez walks five times in a single game - only Jimmie Foxx has walked more times in the 20th century. He walked his first three PA, the first three walks that the Jays' SP gave up. He then was given an intentional walk in the sixth, but later grounded into a fielder's choice to send the game to extra innings.
Being the King of Clutch, however, Edgar stepped up when the Mariners needed him, as he came to the plate in the bottom of the eleventh with the bases loaded with two men out, and Edgar did his special trick, as closer Bryan Eversgerd missed the plate with a count of 3-2, and Edgar Martinez won the game for the Seattle Mariners with a walk-off walk!

... not to thread-jack but I cover high school sports for a living and a few years ago a team I follow won a state playoff game with a walk-off BALK ... the coach sent runners from first and third, telling them to run HARD and LOUD. The pitcher freaked and came out of his wind-up. Balk called. Game over...
