I hate to admit it publicly, but that's exactly what I've started doing. It reeks of cheating, but I keep telling myself "No, it's a fix."

It's a fix that ends up having to be a cheat unless you can do it for every team. |

I do it for every team. It still reeks of cheating.

You are "helping" the AI, so it's a good thing you are doing. Keep telling your self that every time you do it, it helps
I never said it was an easy fix but it would work, least you could keep playing until it is fixed for real |

Any fix in the pipeline for...
the AI waiving recent high-potential/high draft picks? Just saw one of the guys I'd shortlisted for my first-round pick (I passed on him 28th overall and he went 29th) placed on irrevocable waivers after the AI team in question inexplicably had him on their 40-man roster. This is in September of the year he was drafted and given a $1.7M signing bonus, and he's rated 4 star potential by my scout and even higher by OSA (and a peek "behind the curtain" confirms his ratings). He had never played above A-ball and I can not see any reason for him to have been on the 40-man roster in the first place, as my league is now using the new CBA rules and all draft picks are signed to minor league deals.
Have seen other cases of this as well (edit: a team actually waived the 6th overall pick, again in this same year!). I've started using commish mode to manually remove those guys from waivers/the 40 man and put them back in the minors, but does anyone know if this is going to be fixed? I searched it but couldn't find anything, maybe I used the wrong search terms. (It pained me to do this in this player's case, because I really wanted him!) As far as the international findings demanding Major League contracts -- I've found that if you switch the scouting to OSA instead of your scout, these guys' demands will change to a Minor League deal and I can then sign them. Definitely looks like a bug. Last edited by eternal; 07-05-2012 at 03:34 PM. Reason: added more detail |

Doesn't solve the problem for A.I. teams though.

My scout has only found one international prospect who wanted a major league deal (I'm only a week into 2013). I offered him a minor league deal and he accepted it. That's only one player, but it made me wonder if most of them will accept minor league deals even if they're asking for more.
