I have not once broken a rule of this forum.
I made a joke, that did not refer to any specific individual or organisation, that contained no swearwords, no derogatory comments directed at an individual, not did I break any of the rules of the forum. I have only been a member of this forum for a short time. I am actually pretty disappointed in the moderator for putting my name in the mix. The initial poster was out of order and what was said should have easily been deemed "warning fodder", but none of the responses broken any of the rules of the forum. I believe a discussion about the post would have been a more professional way of dispelling any problems on the forum. If you genuinely think that what I have written is worthy of a ban, please use your moderation tools to edit the post. Once again, very disappointed. *edit* Upon reading the rules once again, I believe in quoting the original posters message, I have broken the rules; for that I apologise. I have removed the quote from the original post. Last edited by jonnycosmic; 03-07-2014 at 01:28 PM. |

I'm excited for the patch, I hope it comes this weekend, as I would love to try this game out.

isnt ootp a profitable company ? y wouldnt they make sure this game is 100% before releaseing i bought game as full working game yet i can never get past season 2 it wasnt in beta when i bought it it was advertise as complete yet in 5months or so i have had the game never made it past season 2 due to crash's
or very wierd behavor from the ai made game unplayable not to mention the lack of crap into the game unfortantly they need to work on clarifying before someone buys this game that is still early alpha at best and will be for years to come still cause there lazy well atleast it seems this way cause they break promise after promise didnt they have ootp engine to work with??? Second: you hadn't been able to simulate till season 2 because of crashes. We understand you and feel sorry for you. But if you have read posts, many people were able to simulate many more seasons than just one. Check, for example, dynasty reports. It can be problem with your comp, so please stop complainig about season 2 crashes. It's not the universal problem. Third: imagine that I give you OOTP engine and ask you to customize it for soccer (just an example). Does it looks so easy? Rules are different, there are ties, there are many leagues and each one has its own rules. You have to do historical seasons (but in OOTP there is Lahman database; in case of soccer and hockey...). Besides, at the same time you have to program iOOTP (because iPhone customers will hate you if you don't). Easy? Then imagine that you're pressed for time, dmytron and ellcar are pressing you to release next important patch as quickier as you can. What's next? Nervous breakdown. And on top of that there's a small group of dedicated testers helping iron out the final kinks before the upcoming patch. Btw, OOTP is a baseball game. They can't use a baseball engine to simulate hockey. Hence the OOTP engine couldn't be worked with. They had to build the game from scratch.

Let's look at their promises on the official site. Please consider that I know game by reading forum (and once downloaded from TPB but then deleted 'cause hockey isn't my piece of cake). But whatever.
Quote:
Complete 2013-14 rosters for over 300 teams across 19 leagues -- CHECK New NHL alignment for 2013-14 season included -- CHECK NHL, AHL, OHL, WHL, Liiga, EIHL, KHL, SHL, and many more leagues included -- CHECK Every historical NHL and WHA season from 1947 through 2012-13 included -- CHECK Use commissioner mode to edit players, financials, and more -- CHECK Moving along. Here's list"A Deep Universe": Quote:
Manage your team over multiple decades -- CHECK (season 2 crash, as I have seen, isn't so universal. It crashes, but not in season 2. Maybe 10 or 15 or even doesn't crash) Rich news section offers all your league's highlights -- CHECK League events and milestone watches alert you to important happenings -- CHECK Watch your Hall of Fame grow -- CHECK So do they keep their promises or not? |

![]() And to seriously say that the programmers are lazy because they haven't been able to develop cloning techniques and solve the crises in the Ukraine and Venezuela is pretty laughable. It's not like they took all of our money and are in Cancun right now... |

![]() All of us paid $30 or $40 for a game and we want to see our value. Secondly, I would not use marketing speak as the basis for whether a game fulfilled its promises or not. For example, Brink, the video game, says we can play online, has an intricate story, and has fun filled shooting action. Anyone who has played Brink would be hard to argue that while has those three things, it hardly brings anything really great to the table. I am sure the guys at Bethesda would say that their game isn't broken, but as someone who paid $60, it really was broken. The game, as it stands, has the teams, and has the barebones skeleton of what could be a good sport simulator. Currently, without the new patch, fans are a bit upset that what they have is a workable skeleton of a game with many bugs, glitches, and some fairly not fun systems in place. To make matters worse, communication between the fans and the dev team were absent for a while. I don't think people really insinuate that the developers are lazy - this is their job after all, and if the head guys of OOTP Developments thought that they weren't doing their job, the developers of FHM would have bigger problems than fans being upset. Furthermore, a bad game doesn't help OOTP. It devalues their brand. What people are mainly upset about is that there was communication absent for a long time, and the promise of a great text sim wasn't really achieved yet. Whether thats due to a passionate community having unrealistic expectations of a great first entry compared to a long standing franchise or the developers having unrealistic expectations of how development could be seen isn't really the point. The point is that some fans feel like they didn't get their full value for their money, and that the developers would come and go with regards to communicating how they (the devs) would update the game to improve the experience for the consumer. Patch 1.6.0 is being released fairly soon and I think both sides are pretty excited about it. But to say that one side is wrong isn't really a fair picture of what both sides are after. If I was in charge of FHM 15, I would have a person designated to the FHM community. Instead of offering extensive updates or the promises of many weekly, I would have Sebastian/The Art Designer/Jeff/etc answer 3 community questions per week. You rotate the three-four-five people out every week (so they really only have to do three questions per month), yet the fans still get their weekly updates. Your fans are satisfied that they are being heard, and the development staff don't have to worry about the fans feeling that they aren't getting that connection with the development that they want. |

read the updates now i might be over looking this but in my games i get about 8-15 injuries a week and by second season iam at about 20 or more thats the wierd behavior iam talking about and here is something i have to say is gonna make this still unplayable after the patch its direct from update form
Important note: Movement between rosters is disruptive to training. Players only retain the points they accumulated with their current team this month, there is no carryover from other teams he may have been with during the month. So consider that when deciding whether or not to shuffle players betwen your main roster and a farm team. k if i understand that right at my rate of injuries game will be so unplayble as ppl wont progress at all or extremly slow really thought that was gonna be fix. maybe iam over looking something can i change injury rate? and i hope this pash fixes all those crash's after first season. end up haveing to buy ****ing fhm 2016 before its even playable so 50$x3 150 to finally play past second season.......... of cause thats just at the current rate of progression for this game |

The game is playable. If you have crashes, report them and they will be fixed.

i have uploaded my crash's while back and nothin... so it is for me and some otheres out there i know UNPLAYABLE
(Edit - deleted a line encouraging people to pirate the game. ellcar won't be responding any further, I've banned him for a couple of months. I don't think anyone can say I've been heavy-handed in dealing with criticism of the game, but I'm not going to tolerate him telling people to torrent it, that's way over the line.) What does-Teams can now have more than two affiliations mean? Does it mean that the Toronto Maple Leafs can have two affiliations in the AHL or something else?
