Series Preview: MIA Marlins @ Citi Field (3-Games)

The Marlins come to the Big Apple for a set of three games.
I'm not going to say much here.
We win this series.
Syndergaard, Kershaw and Strasburg are the starters for this set.

MIA Marlins 3
NY METS 6
Citi Field

Noah Syndergaard gave up 3 quick runs in the 1st and then settled down and swung his axe.
He went 7 and had 10 strikeouts.
Mike Trout (14) and Jose Altuve (9) went deep today with Altuve and Aaron Judge having 2 hits in the game.
I have to admit, after the 1st inning, I thought this game was going to go to the dogs, but then, we played like we were supposed to.

MIA Marlins 4
NY METS 7
Citi Field

The Mets win the series over the Marlins.
Clayton Kershaw goes 6 and gives up 3 runs on 9 hits with 8 strikeouts today.
Kenley Jensen gets his 8th save.
The Mets did go long on the Fish with Charlie Blackmon (3) and Giancarlo Stanton (5) getting dingers.
Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa were dialed in at the plate with both players having 3 hits tonight.
It will be up to Stephen Strasburg tomorrow for the sweep.

MIA Marlins 2
NY METS 9
Citi Field

Yep, Steven Strasburg went 7 and gave up 1 run on 5 hits with 9 Ks.
But we didn't need him though as the Mets opened up a can of whoop a$$ on the Marlins.
HRs: Carlos Correa (5), Gary Sanchez (7), Mike Trout (15) and TWO by Giancarlo Stanton (6,7) which were over 1000 feet combined length.
We sweep MIA and now begin a 7-game road trip which begins in the home of the "Brew Crew."

Series Preview: MIL Brewers @ Miller Park (4-Games)

A long 4-game series against the Brewers is coming up for Memorial Day Weekend.
The Brewers have some talent and they are not to be take lightly.
Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun could give us some trouble while Zach Davies is their ace pitcher and Keon Broxton is hitting pretty well right now.
We should still win this series but I will be happy with a 2-2 split as always with 4-game sets.
Sale, Kluber, Syndergaard and Kershaw will be the holiday starters for the weekend.

NY METS 4
MIL Brewers 3
Miller Park

Mike Trout only had 1 hit today, but it was a big one as he belted a 3-run HR, his 16th in the 9th to give the Mets the lead.
Luis Severino got his 3rd win in relief and Aroldis Chapman got his 7th save.
Chris Sale did pitch very well, only giving up 2 runs on 4 hits.
Aaron Judge had two hits tonight including his 15th HR on the year.
MIL Zach Davies was really stopping my lineup, but when he went out with an injury and MIL Jeremy Jeffress came into the game, I thought we would come back and win this one.
We did!

NY METS 8
MIL Brewers 1
Citi Field

The MIL Brewers have such a depleted bullpen that the NY Mets were able to beat them for the 2nd straight game.
Corey Kluber was great, going 6.1 and giving up 1 run on 3 hits.
He had 7 strikeouts.
Bryce Harper hit his 11the HR on the season, Mike Trout hit his 17th HR and Giancarlo Stanton hits TWO HRs again, his 8th and 9th.
He is on fire!
Trout, Harper and Freddie Freeman had 3 hits tonight.
Corey Kluber helped his cause out also with 2 hits of his own.
He is batting .360 as a pitcher.
Might use him as a pinch hitter if I need one.

MIL Brewers 6
Miller Park

Noah Syndergaard
had a rough game this time.
He gives up 6 runs on 7 hits and walked 3 over 2 strikeouts.
MIL pitching did a very good job keeping us in check with the only bright spot tonight being Bryce Harper's 12th HR of the year.

This Week in Baseball---NY METS

3 out of 4 aint bad in MIL.
19-5 for the month of May as we head into the last few days of it.
In terms of All-Star Voting, pretty much every Met has a chance to get to the All-Star Game.
We are doing just fine as we now head into the summer months.

Series Preview: ATL Braves @ SunTrust Park (3-Games)

A three game series with the Braves is next on the schedule.
Ender Inciarte, Ozzie Albies and Johan Camargo are the guys to be ready for.
Julio Teheran and Luis Gohara are still underrated pitchers and they can definitely throw some junk.
No doubts there.
Strasburg, Sale and Kluber are the starters for this set.

NY METS 1
ATL Braves 0
SunTrust Park
(11 Innings)

The recap fails to tell how the Mets won this very fun game.
It was Giancarlo Stanton, blasting his 10th HR of the year in the top of the 11th inning.
Stephen Strasburg pretty much pitched his A$$ off giving up 6 hits and striking out 8.
Ken Giles (1-1) got the win and Aroldis Chapman (9) the save.
ATL Scott Kasmir shut the Mets down entirely, but the Braves bullpen allowed us to steal a win here @ SunTrust Park.
The Braves had more hits than we did, but we scored the only run.
And that is what matters people!

ATL Braves 2

Chris Sale does have a good outing going 5.2 and giving up 2 runs on 7 hits.
But its Andrew Miller getting his 1st win.
Kenley Jansen gets his 9th save of the season.
Mike Trout (18), Nolan Arenado (6) and Giancarlo Stanton (11) all hit the long-ball today.
Arenado wins the golden bat award as he had 3 hits for the game.
I guess he's trying to win his starting job at 3B back.
Well, lets see if he can keep it up.
With the win over ATL, we take the series and it will now be up to Kluber to sweep the Tomahawk Chop right out of Georgia.

Corey Kluber continues his dominance on the mound.
He goes 7 and gives up 1 run on 7 hits.
He struck out 7 batters.
Aroldis Chapman gets his 10th save as the game got a little close for my liking.
Carlos Correa smacked his 6th HR of the year.
Stanton, Harper, Blackmon and Arenado all had 2 hits tonight.
We sweep the Braves and now get ready for a very big series with the Cubbies!
