John Valentin still trails Barry Larkin (Twins) at SS, and Kent Johnson is still in 3rd for Relief Pitchers, but Jim Abbott has moved up to 2nd at Starting Pitcher, behind only Greg Maddux of the Rangers.

Concerning was John Valentin leaving with pain in his elbow. The rookie has been a high point for eh Jays this year.

However, the Yankees walked them off, 6-5 in 10.

Lawrence Leverett's big home run clinched a 6-3 win for the Blue Jays over the Red Sox.

But the win came at a big cost as both Willie McGee and Ricardo Gonzalez left the game with injuries.

Word is that McGee is likely to miss a couple of weeks while Gonzalez will miss closer to a month.
