It's the message I received after trying (unsuccessfully) to upgrade a combinator Red Ryan 100, using a pile of cards that gave a 92.57% chance of success. You can imagine how hard that sucks... Takeaway: 100% or nothing for high rated, expensive cards.

A much better way would be to simply set the number of points needed to make the upgrade. Leave it up to the player to accumulate those points, and take the "Las Vegas" gamble out of the picture entirely.

Sorry to see you go. I'm just getting started. Last year, I note it took me 22 weeks to establish my team in diamond (make playoffs 50% of the time and minimal chance for relegation) and this is only week 15. I don't know why you struggle so.

After reaching gold last week and barely hanging on, I made 10 changes,(details upon request ) so team chemistry is below 30%, but I'm 41-40. That's progress! After OOTP25 missions dropped yesterday, I set new personal records for selling a bronze card (25K) and an iron card (12K). Other folks were faster and bolder and got twice that. With the proceeds, I bought a bunch of cards to boost my tournament team, but before I could insert them, the old team won a daily!! Now what?

In all honesty, I think the biggest difference between me and those loving PT as it is comes down to "investment" - and I'm not talking about just monetary investment. It's an accepted fact that you either have to spend money or spend time to be successful here. I prefer not to spend money (retired) and I simply don't have the time to invest to take advantage of all the various ways to be successful. Life gets in the way, and besides; I gave up spreadsheets when I retired and have little urge to spend my days making them.

That said, one could respond "then this game isn't for you" and I would have to somewhat agree - but I LOVE baseball and the essence of PT "promises" a lot of fun. It's just that, over the past 7 years, PT has gone from a fun game to a "job" to stay competitive for more than a few months.

I'm about ready to start a new Classic game league and expect that to carry me over until March when I will try again. I'll probably stop in each week to see how things are going and open some achievement packs, but spend most of my time with my "Old Time Baseball" league.

Doing decently in tournaments these days...but...

Can't get out of the division series in my league no matter how strong my team is...couple 100 plus win teams not making the LCS.... Curse you PT!!!

Combinators are the worst thing to happen to this game, makes me not want to touch it again in the future. That is all.

Never cared about the main league but at least tournaments used to be fun. Now all of those absolutely suck. Any fun aspect of team building and card collecting is gone in every facet of the game now.

PTCS ... that was depressing.

Frankly, editing rosters is still an awful experience, and having time pressure to commit PTCS roster does not help

Missed the gold league playoffs by one game. Had I won game 162 there would have been a 5-way tie for 2 wild card spots.

The YakAnglers were smoothly sailing towards the playoffs until they hit an 0-11 streak late Friday night, ultimately ending the season with a 2-14 run, narrowly missing the playoffs by three games. It's the third consecutive season we've had an 11-game losing streak.

The Battle Corgis were in an 8-team conference and made the playoffs on game 163. 5 teams battled all season for the final two playoff spot and only 3 games decided the winners, with three tied at 81-81.

The Gunners made the playoff quite easily despite having a roster of mostly Live Mission Cards. They're not doing too bad despite only getting to open daily reward cards and what missions they can finish.

We were all supposed to get at least one card for making the PTCS, right? Everyone got a door prize? I don't see the bronze Bagwell that I thought everyone got.

That's more than likely coming out on Monday. They have to be manually added because of technical reasons.

The Battle Corgis won the Wild Card game but were beat 3-1 in the division series. Very happy to be staying in Gold as they are not Diamond quality.

Have finished several missions trying to land a 99 Sosa or a 71 DeGrom, but of course no luck.

Win 4 packs in a Live Iron tournament and pull 71 DeGrom. Unfortunately, not with the team I was hoping for!

Not a 'success' in game per se (and combinators still suck) but had about ~10 standard packs today... pulled the 100 Jeter and the 100 Griffey. I'll take those I guess. Makes up for the all the days of opening packs and getting nothing.

2nd team debuts in Rookie League today!
I've completed 122 missions. My 29 Rookie League opponents, most of whose teams have been playing many weeks, combined have completed ONE mission. 13,000 teams in PT, but maybe only 1,000 actually play?

I have pretty good success in Tournaments when my set roster is actually loaded up and not replaced but am still baffled that the powers that be, after all these years, still allow Tournaments teams to throw 3 SP rotations. It's not a real thing. Teams don't do it IRL so it should be allowed here. It's not cool. It's a cheat. I don't like playing against cheaters and won't cheat back to beat them. It's something that needs to end.

Teams use shortened rotations in the playoffs all the time? Though I'm pretty sure last year it was a bunch of 4 man rotations. 2016 Indians rode a rotation of Kluber-Bauer-Tomlin to game 7 of the world series.

In Round Robin and BO5 tournaments, I don't see why 3 Starter rotation should trigger anyone. PT is not real life scenario.
Roger Clemens vs Aaron Judge does not really happen, it's a game which allows to observe that improbable matchup

As I was frustrated with Strategy adjustments I start trying to set all decision making to Computer AI.

So far it does not look like a wise decision
