Albert Bishop, Niagaras of Buffalo/Buffalo Niagaras, 1850s

A good alternative shot of Albert Bishop, the center fielder for the 1859 team.

Dan Kleinfelder, Philadelphia Athletics, 1860s

Another shot of Kleinfelder, not as good as the one I posted a few months ago, but still an alternative if you don't like the other one for whatever reason. He played for the Athletics beginning in 1862, and previously played for the Excelsior of Philadelphia. He was also the captain of the A's in 1865.

1869 Cleveland Forest Citys players (never played in MLB)

These are the players from the 1869 Cleveland Forest Citys who never played in the "MLB."

From left to right: Eben Smith (SS), Arthur Burt (IF), John Reilly (RF), Leonard Hanna (2B), Austin "Pikey" Smith (3B)

John Ward (LF) was also on the 1869 team and is posted earlier on this thread here: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...rd#post5094657

Kents Hill Odd Fellows/Odd Fellows of Kents Hill, 1869

From Reddit: Top left guy: his name, sideways on the left, is Woodbury. The words above the photo are Catch [Catcher] and Capt [Captain]

Top right: Pitcher Alf Marston [the cross stroke of the t is misplaced to the right]

Bottom Left: Short Stop [no name here]

Bottom Right: 1st Base Woodsman

This team was confirmed to be the Kents Hill Odd Fellows by Bruce Allardice as he told me "On the 1870 census Alfred T. Marston is a student at Kent's Hill. As is Washington Woodberry."

Alonzo Slote, New York Knickerbockers, 1862? - 1868?

He was also a firefighter for the Oceana Hose Company 36, which Alexander Cartwright was a member of too at one point.

There is a player named Alonzo Slote Tredwell who plays in the Houston Astros farm system in 2024 so it is very likely that the two are relatives, especially given that Alonzo Slote's "Find A Grave" page says that he was "of the firm of Tredwell & Slote."

Candy Cummings and an unidentified teammate, Brooklyn Stars, 1860s

Many sources say the guy on the right is Cummings but the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown has a picture of the guy on the left on one of the walls there labeled as Cummings.

Another Philadelphia Athletics team pic, 1866

Not sure what year this is from. Going in order from the top we got Hicks Hayhurst, Dan Kleinfelder, Wes Fisler, Lip Pike, Patsy Dockney, Tom Pratt, Al Reach, Nate Berkenstock, and Dick McBride is in the middle.

Sadly I do not have names for everyone but Mort Rogers is the guy seated on the left in the middle row and Henry Chadwick is the one standing on the far right.

The names are listed but sadly they're too blurry for me to make out. I know for a fact the guy in the bottom row on the right is Paddy Quinn but that's all I got for now.

Olympics Team Composite - Possibly Washington Olympics 1869/70

Any further information in respect of the team shown and the identification of the players is most welcome.

Possibly this is a composite of either the 1869 or 1870 Washington Olympics. The player in the centre is suggested to be a future leading baseball executive :- Nick Young.

A box score from an Olympics game from 1869 reveals the following lineup :- 1. Force 3b, 2. Reach ss, 3. Malone c, 4. Young rf, 5. Leach p, 6. Robinson lf, 7. Miller 1b, 8. Hurley 2b, 9. Emmett cf

Fergy Malone was with the Washington Olympics from 1868-1869 before returning to the Philadelphia Athletics in 1870 so my guess is this is from 1869.

My guesses on the identities: Davy Force, Bob Reach, Fergy Malone, Nick Young, Leach?, Val Robinson, Joe Miller (maybe?), Dick Hurley, and Emmett?

I THINK YOU MAY HAVE JUST FOUND A PIC OF THE LONG-MISSING PLAYER VAL ROBINSON!!!

Here's a clearer copy of the 1869 Aetnas obtained from a Chicago Tribune article.

Per Reed Howard, the following players were with the Olympics in 1869:
Barrett (5 g), Billings, Denison, Davy Force (26 g), Dick Hurley (8 g), Ed Leech (26 g), Fergy Malone (25 g), Harry McLean (22 g), William Miller (7 g), Bob Reach (24 g), Val Robinson (25 g), Michael Urell (16 g), Eddie Woods (15 g), Samuel Yeatman (5 g), and Nick Young (26 g). There are no dates for whom played when. Emmett is a new name, it seems.
