I've been experimenting with Google Gemini for Negro Leagues photos as so many are blurry, crops from team photos, or photos of players in other settings. Here are a couple of examples.

Looks good.
You may want to write the the prompts for the uniforms of the team you are using. Then you can just tell the ai to create the image of the player at whatever age you need.

Chatgpt is getting better.
I took a rookie photo of Babe Ruth and just asked chatgpt to put him in a 1934 New York Yankees home uniform and make him look like he was 39 years old.
This is what it gave me.

yes this can get rid of the face gen easily (which i always hated)
Long on my wish list is the ability for multiple photos per player and team per year.
Fielding shot, batting shot etc. That ads to newspapers and playing pbp

Im not sure if getting rid of face gen would be a good thing or not as i never used it that much.
Does face gen help players look realistic to the real player when in live action or is it just for still photos?

Of course it does or I wouldn't waste my time doing them

He probably base his judgement on old FGs or FGs generated by the game engine (those were and still are bad), what we do now is as good as using photography... quality changed a lot between 2015 / 2016 and 2025.

I'd like to try facegen for the live play and photos for like news and player profile. Not sure if thats possible.
Really wish ootp would have an auto option to overwrite the current photos with the next years photos.
So you could have photos for rookies coming in for the new year automatically or when players changed teams.
Instead of having to copying and pasting or manually pointing to a new folder.

Actually I just finished 1882 yesterday. I just have them in cream colored jerseys or shirts. I might redo them and add the red suspenders or are those stripes?
I also completed 1884 except for the Union Association.
I upgraded my plan with chatgpt and it seems to have improved a lot vs the ones it originally did for me.
I may redo 1871-1876 now that I am more experienced at what im trying to achieve.
I will try to post 1882 this season for comparison.
I have no problem with redoing ones if a uniform would look better..

Yeah the 5.2 model is much better at listening the request and it didn't do painting anymore in place of photo as it sometimes do with the 5.1 model. it remember more what I want too (the shadows are fixed without asking so it save a command for me).

Tried to redo Baltimore but chatgpt didn't seem to get the collar and the
red line/suspenders right so i just left it as it was.

I was going to redo 1871-1977 but after experimenting with caps on players and baseball card up back ground i may just start over.
Here are some examples with cap anson in a baseball card background.
Will have to make sure the year is correct on the card.

I found that if i create the ai image in the same browser tab chatgpt will keep it more consistent.
You cant really see the name on the image in ootp but it makes it look more
like a real baseball card. Although its a little more work.

You're right he does... this is why everytime I work on a new photo for a FG I must open a new session or he will confuse the new image with some he worked on before.

It really does a good job on the uniform... my focus is the face but what I see here is impressive!

Also I made Chat GPT and Gemini work together... Gemini is good with face position and Chat GPT is better with details, so sometimes I must use Gemini to get his logic creation process and feed it to Chat GPT :-)

Considering how bad the source was I must say that both Gemini and Chat GPT did an impressive job with Al Bradley. The image is bright and without the baseball cap because this is what I needed to do a better FG with FG modeller.

Sure it isn't 100% perfect but it isn't like the photo was to begin with
