Walkers news: Jan. 5 -- Trade with Milwaukee lands reliever McVey
The St. Louis River Walkers have completed a trade with the Milwaukee Crushers acquired right-handed relief pitcher Brett McVey in exchange for AAA first baseman Jean Lefevre.
McVey, 31, pitched in 59 games last season for the Crushers, going 3-3 with a 3.39 ERA. In his major league career, split between Milwaukee, Dayton and Columbus, he has worked in 180 games and posted a record of 8-18 with 23 saves and a 4.20 ERA. Lefevre has never played above the AAA level for St. Louis, and with Nick Shaw firmly ensconced at first base will likely see a real chance to exceed in the majors. In 2036, at AAA Memphis, Lefevre, 30, hit .242 with 14 homers and 44 RBIs in 127 games. |
