As a result, I’ve been thinking about what the rewards for these missions should be. I have thought about lots of possibilities and come to the following conclusions:

I don’t think they can award PP because people will instantly inflate the price of the collection cards to equal to the price of the reward you get. Then I thought maybe they should offer a choice where you have three different reward cards and you choose the one you want. But I’m pretty sure once people figure out which card is worth the most people will gravitate toward picking the “best” reward and if they don’t wanna use It they’ll sell it and buy something else, so I don’t think that would work either. And as we see, the issue with giving specific players is that if they’re really good everyone will use them and if they’re not that good nobody will use them.

You need an award that’s good enough to incentivize people to collect the cards, but not a reward that is so good that it’s overpowering.

One idea that makes sense to me would be to award packs as rewards for completing the missions. The issue with packs is that the contents are so variable but they could do things like award gold packs or diamond packs so you know you’re getting a card you can use (Uh... maybe!). They could invent packs that they don’t sell for rewards... The possibilities are endless... maybe gold/diamond historical packs for people who like those historical cards! Or some combination thereof... say one gold pack and three regular packs for completing a low level collection. What about a historical pack that guarantees an 85 or higher gold card in it (they do this when you’re creating a team, you get specialized packs that aren’t the same as the ones they sell). Or how about a historical pack that’s guaranteed to have a gold or better shortstop? Or maybe you could have a choice between two gold packs with a 2B and a SS or one diamond pack with a CF! What about a guaranteed Negro League card pack? There’s a lot they can do. If I were in charge of this that’s the direction in which I would go. I would try to make it so there is an absolute floor on the value that you get from completing the collection so that people wouldn’t complete something and get a gold 80 live card that sells for 1000.

That’s my deep thinking for the day!

yeah, I'd definitely support the packs-as-mission-rewards for the live missions path (a few gold packs for some of the teams that are easier/cheaper to complete; diamond/historic pack combos for the more expensive teams; multiple diamond/historic packs for completing divisions; etc).... figure that should hopefully give a more random cross section of players; and might also make it more beneficial to *not* rush to complete them right away.... as more cards are added to the mix, that just adds to the pool of possibilities from those packs

Kansas remains on top posting a 4-2 record yesterday. Weston Pointe, 8-3 on the day moves into second as the race for the diamond crown starts to take shape.

In PT, I believe the adding of the other standings table gives a complete view of how OL fit in the various races. Terra Incognita has escaped relegation (barely).

Transylvania and Left Coast sit atop a tightly packed OL group.

Woke up to 6 tourney packs this morning on the Rangers. Had 5 on the Bombers. Bombers packed a live diamond and a live gold which I thought was a great return. However....the Rangers just packed this guy. Worth 605k at L7. That should help this team.

That's quite a draw --- I am salivating as we speak. There is only one better CF (as a package) in the game: Tris Speaker (100). wow.

Thank you!! I'm not sure what to do. I'm putting him up on the AH to see if I get bites over L7, because I could build SE Jackie plus have quite a bit left over. I think Jackie plus leftover, benefits me more than Oscar alone. He is incredible though. Tourney packs have been good to me this year.

The crazy thing about it, I usually have terrible pack luck. I leave the pack luck to Magus. I went over 1200 packs in PT20 without a perfect. Eventually got a live Scherzer. I'm not sure where all this luck is coming from this last week, but I will take it.

Took my excess bankroll plus what I gained from selling a Future Legend Diamond pulled from a tourney pack to purchase 90 Jim Northrup (pack-pulled) for backup OF, 91 Arky Vaughn at SS, and 100 Mickey Cochrane to upgrade Catcher. After a 4-5 start before inserting new team, I have gone 45-12. Looking to rejoin the competition soon after I pummel Stone level this week.

If you don't want to go shopping right away, I'd say put him up at an inflated price. I don't have time during the week, so I wait until the weekends. Because of that, when I pulled the King Kelly, I put him up for a pretty inflated price, and in the end made at least 100 K more than would be expected. I forget now, but I think it was like 117,000 after tax more. It might have taken a couple of days, but I kept the time at 12 hours and just kept putting it up. I figured if a whale gets a little hungry, 100 K doesn't hurt their wallet that much.


In short, if you want to sell, go Ron Popeil - set it and forget it. Yeah I worked midnights back in the day, so I saw him a few times.

Kansas still sits on top of the leader board as we hit the mid mark of the season. OL and PT standings below. Don't have much time for a writeup today.

I remember how exciting the 1967 AL pennant race was, and I think in OL we have even more teams involved in the chase. Only 1-1/2 game separate the six teams. Jefferson Valley only plays 9 games, however.


In PT play, OL has put up a fairly middling effort so far, but it's only "Thursday. Terra Incognita is in a relegation spot.
