The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of free-agent pitcher Ming Xiang to a three-year contract worth $22.5 million.
The third year of the contract contains a team option.
The 25-year-old Xiang, 25, has not pitched outside of Taiwan but was considered one of the better pitchers on the free-agent market.

The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of outfielder Eddie Estrella to a one-year contract worth $4 million.
The River Walkers acquired Estrella in a trade with Ann Arbor at mid-season in 2036.
In 46 games with St. Louis, Estrella hit .287 with six homers and 19 RBIs.
He will probably be looked at as a bat off the bench and corner outfield depth in the 2037 season.

The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of free-agent center fielder Bill Pena to a two-year contract worth $7 million.
The 2037 portion of the deal is guaranteed while the 2038 season features a team option.
In 2036, Pena, 33, played in 106 games for the World Series champion Diesels batting .205 with nine homers and 28 RBIs.
For his career, two seasons in Akron and six in Detroit, Pena has played in 806 games and batted .196 with 52 homers and 204 RBIs.
Pena is expected to be used as a pinch-hitter and defensive replacement.

The St. Louis River Walkers have completed a trade with the Quad City Thunder, acquiring 32-year-old middle infielder Jordan Quinto in exchange for AAA first baseman Jesse Long.
Quinto, who will be asked to provide depth at shortstop and second base, played in 89 games for the Thunder last season, batting .286 with six homers and 30 RBIs.
In 370 major league games, Quinto is a .254 hitter with nine homers and 97 RBIs.
Long, 27, played 106 games for AAA Memphis in 2036, batting .265 with 28 homers and 72 RBIs.
For his minor league career, Long has got into 945 games and hit .205 homers with 630 RBIs.

St. Louis River Walkers relief pitcher Bobby Westerman is expected to miss at least four weeks of spring training with a strained rotator cuff.
The 28-year-old right-hander suffered the injury in the team's opening spring training game on March 2, a 5-4 win over Kansas City.
Westerman is penciled in to be the closer for St. Louis this season, after serving as the set-up man for Nick Strother in 2036.
