The St. Louis River Walkers have made their first move of the off-season, inking left-handed reliever Jake Diekman to a three-year contract.
Diekman, 31, was with the team in 2018 during which he appeared in a team-high 76 games. He posted a record of 7-5 with a 2.74 ERA and a WHIP of 1.17.

He has not played a game against MLB competition, but scouts have given South Korean second baseman Jin-Hwan Chung high marks across the board.
This lead to the St. Louis River Walkers signing of Chung to a four-year deal worth $16 million per season, with some opt outs on both sides.

The St. Louis River Walkers have made a major trade, sending 24-year-old third baseman Alex Bregman to the Milwaukee Keg Lifters for right-handed pitcher Kyle Hendricks and third base prospect Julian Infante.
While Bregman is considered one of the better young players in the game, he was considered expendable with Nicky Demonico on the roster.
While Bregman had a better batting average, Demonico showed more power in the 2018 season and is his equal as a defender.

Domonico also is a solid defender at first base and left field.
With 17 wins, Hendricks topped the National League in 2018. He will take over the spot that belonged to Alex Cobb a year ago.
