The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that outfielder Victor Scott II will miss at least two weeks after suffering a strained oblique during an 8-3 win over the Seattle Mariners on Sept. 9.
Scott, 27, had just been called up from AAA Memphis following the regular-season ending injury suffered by Lawrence Butler. In 19 games/17 starts with St. Louis, Butler has hit .281 with one home run and six RBIs. At AAA, he is a .271 hitter with nine home runs and 53 RBIs in 94 games/91 starts. Getting recalled from the AAA Redbirds is 26-year-old outfielder Chase Davis. He has already played in St. Louis this season, getting into 35 games/26 starts during which he has hit .208 with two home runs and 13 RBIs. Davis has fared much better at AAA, batting .300 with 13 home runs and 48 RBIs in 82 games/74 starts. |
