The Chicago White Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers 10-2 to earn themselves a wild-card berth in the American League playoffs.
The White Sox (84-77) trail the Tigers by 3.5 games in the American League Central with one game left in the regular season.
But they own the second-best record among the teams vying for a wild-card berth.
This will be the second postseason trip in a row for the White Sox.
A year ago, they won the division, and fell to the Colorado Rockies in the World Series.
Chicago's last World Series win came in 2005, when it defeated the Houston Astros.

The Texas Rangers defeated the Las Vegas Athletics 6-2 on the final day of the regular season to earn a wild-card berth into the American League playoffs.
The Rangers finished the season 83-79, five games behind the Seattle Mariners in the American League West Division.
This is the fourth straight time Texas has reached the postseason and the fifth time in six years.
This is the second consecutive season the Rangers have advanced as a wild card.
Texas last reached the World Series in 2023, when it defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks.

A 4-1 victory over the San Diego Padres gave the Arizona Diamondbacks the top spot in the National League West Division for the 2028 season.
The division title is the third in the last four seasons for the D'backs, who have made the playoffs each one of those campaigns.
Arizona last made the World Series in 2023, when it fell to the Texas Rangers.
The D'backs only World Series win came in 2021, when they defeated the New York Yankees in seven games.
