We lost a close one yesterday and we are hoping to get a win today in my home country.

The Expos are pitching Alex Fernandez (5-6, 3.41).

The Giants have John Burkett (5-6, 4.15). John is going on three days rest.

I am hitting seventh.

In the bottom of the 1st, Shane Mack hit a solo blast.
Then Sammy Sosa scored on a Candy Maldonado double.
He scored on an Alvaro Espinoza single.
I handled a Bill Haselman grounder to end the inning.

Expos lead 3-0

I came up with two out in the 2nd and grounded out to Scott Cooper at 3rd.

I took care of a Jose Offerman grounder to end the 2nd.

In the 4th, Ryan Klesko hit a two run homer to put us back in it.

Expos lead 3-2

But in the bottom half, Haselman scored on a double by Fernandez.
We turned a Priske - Grebeck - Caminiti double play.

Expos lead 4-2

I led off the 5th by reaching 2nd on an error by Sosa in right.
I scored on a pinch hit single by Mike Brewington.

Expos lead 4-3

Joe Boever took the ball for us in the bottom of the 5th.

I handled a Maldonado grounder for the 3rd out behind him.

I led off the 7th by sneaking one into right for a single.
I went to 2nd on a sac bunt by Joe Hall.
We tied the game when I scored on a pinch hit single by Manny Ramirez.
Manny scored on a single by Ken Caminiti.

Giants lead 5-4

Mark Ross took over on the mound for us in the 7th.

Ryan led off the 8th with another homer!
I came up with two out, now facing Tim Scott. I flew out to Mack in centre.

Giants lead 6-4

Craig Lefferts took the hill for us in the 8th.

Mike Perez came in to save it in the 9th. He gave up a couple of singles, but no runs, and we had the win.

I went 1 for 4 with a single, a reached-on-error, and two runs scored.

We have split the first two games in Montreal and we are wrapping up today.

The Expos are pitching Roger Pavlik (7-1, 3.54).

The Giants have Bryan Hickerson (1-3, 4.40).

I am hitting seventh.

I took care of a Candy Maldonado grounder to end the 1st inning.

I came up with two out in the 2nd and worked a walk.
I went to 2nd on a wild pitch.
I was left there.

In the 3rd, Bryan scored on a sac fly by Ken Caminiti.

Giants lead 1-0

I made an error on a grounder in the bottom of the inning.
Thankfully it didn't lead to a run.

I came up in the 4th with one out and Craig Grebeck on 2nd. I grounded out to Alvaro Espinoza at 2nd, advancing Craig.
He also didn't end up scoring.

In the 6th, Bryce Bernadin scored on a Tim Naehring single.
I came up with two out and Craig on 1st. Cris Carpenter was now the pitcher. I grounded out to Gerald Perry at 1st.

Giants lead 2-0

I handled a Sammy Sosa grounder to end the 6th.

In the 7th, Antonio Martinez scored on a sac fly by Ken.

Giants lead 3-0

With one out and one on in the bottom of the 7th, Matt brought in Mark Ross.
It was a pretty nice outing for Bryan's return to the Bigs!

In the 8th we turned a Priske - Grebeck - Brewington double play.

I led off the 9th, now facing Tim Scott. I grounded out to Israel Seda at short.

Mike Perez came in to lock things down in the 9th.
A fly ball to each outfielder later and he had his 19th save.

I went 0 for 3 with a walk and an error.

We are back tied with the Dodgers in 4th.

Now we head to Philadelphia.
