Gold league:

In a crazy finish, four different teams had a shot at the OL crown depending on how the games turned out in the final month. When the dust settled, HelthWyzer emerged as the OL champion (just a swing of a single game from a win to a loss would have been enough to drop them to third... every game counts).

Overall, Cedar Rapids had a solid regular season run and claimed the AC East division crown. In the NC, Waffletown just barely squeaked into the post season mix, claiming the final wild card spot by a single game.

Texarkana will head back down to Silver next season.

Promotions will be the 4 LCS teams plus the best record of the LDS losers (5 teams).

2031 Waffletown Syrups regular season wrap up:

It was a see-saw season for the Syrups as they spent time challenging for the NC West division title, and time struggling to remain above the .500 mark. When all was said and done, the Syrups celebrated a post season berth as they claimed the final wild card spot with a record of 88-74.

Shortstop Alan Trammell had a solid year at the plate, claiming the batting title (his first) with a .337 average.

Designated hitter Hack Wilson claimed the home run crown (his third) with 31 home runs. He also reached a couple of milestone marks, cranking his 300th career home run and his 1000th career RBI

Waffletown will head north to face off against the Wisconsin Legends (91-71) in the wild card match. The two teams met 7 times during the regular season with the Syrups taking the series 4 games to 3.

Though we've already crowned Gear Terrace as champs, here are the official final standings. Gear Terrace and Shoebox were both knocked out of playoffs, but will advance to Stone for the 2032 campaign.

Daytona Beach downed Inland Empire, 3-1, in the AC Division Series, and South Holland is set to face Gettysburg in the NC Sub-League Series. All four teams will advance to Bronze.

Gold playoff update:

Waffletown went down in the wild card match, and Cedar Rapids lost in the LDS; so no OL teams will achieve promotion from Gold this season.

Kaipo did some fancy things after the sale of NL Campanella, bringing in Bob Locker for 49k, then making a small profit on a dumb move (bought a lot of packs) which included sales of several historical diamond pulls. The final sales were of a pulled Biz Mackey for 18k and Kid Nichols for 29k, and that led them to buy a BaL 100 Tom Glavine for nearly 50k below L10.

This allowed them to add 95 Freddie Freeman to the team via collection completion. The two diamond packs were 12 live trash, including two Lindors which were quicksold immediately while Magus was left to curse and complain about the pack gods being against him, forgetting that they've been with him far too many times already.

That said, a now mean looking rotation of Cy Young, Smoky Joe Wood, Tom Glavine, Satchel Paige, and Robin Roberts looks towards 2032 where the bare minimum expectation is now to make the playoffs and get promoted to diamond.

They will have a brand new weapon to use in said WS. 100 Sam McDowell joins the club in a 33k deal. Jamie Moyer has been banished for being completely and utterly useless.

Patriots down 3-1 in their WS. Barring something unforeseen, they are yet again destined to be the last loser.

This one stings even more because we should be wiping the floor with this mostly live trash team, and it really does start to feel like they only show up when it comes time to keep me championship-less. It's getting f***ing old, let me tell you.
