Eddie Plank knew how to stop the Giants... by pitching a 2-hit, 7 strikeout shut-out while your team scores a dozen runs!

Sam Mertes hit a homer and Sam Crawford pushed 4 runs across!

WP - Eddie Plank (17-6)
LP - Morton Wise (12-11)

How many games can you win when you commit SIX errors.

Now what if those games are against the best team in the league?

Pirates beat Superbas 11-2.

Cesar Gonzalez' hurt knee turned out to be a broken kneecap. He is out for 8-9 months.

Called up to replace him was Pat Clinch.

Also, Dick Scott was sent down and Bob Lawson recalled.
