Bronze OL teams ended up playing with an old friend this week in the New York Patriots, now of BFF. In fact, 4 of my teams (Patriots, Mets, Boppers, Muse) all ended up in this league.
I'll come up with proper OL stats later, but at the moment Blitzkrieg and Transylvania are in promotion positions, while Otonokizaka and Cochise County are in relegation spots. Otonokizaka looking at suffering a second relegation in three seasons. |

PP Lottery pays off for K-Town
In the process of a roster redo, K-Town sold off a number of SE cards, with hopes of picking up some quality replacements. Of course, once I had a few PP's, it was too tempting not to buy 3 lottery tickets in the form of packs.
(Until this pull, packs have been the expected junk for all 3 of my teams. But now, SE Yaz will be replaced by Peak Yaz.)

Red Menace Lead in Wide Open OL G305
Norwood has taken the pole position, but the field is crowded with contenders. Hopefully, it means a feisty competition for the crown.

Terra Incognita rustles up an 8-2 record to remain on top of the leader board.

Terra Incognita, 3-3 yesterday still holds the top spot in the OL standings. Waffletown, 4-1 yesterday leapfrogged Ring Road to take over second. The Syrups have a pretty heavy OL schedule today so if they are going to make a run, today is the day.
In PT play Ring Road holds the lead in the NC Central while Terra Incognita holds down the top wildcard spot in the AC. Otherwise all other OL teams are on the outside looking in. Bluffton, K-Town and Jefferson Valley are currently facing relegation. |

War Robots Grab Top Spot in OL G305
Krikkit rose to the top of the crowded field, but can't rest comfortably, as a hot run could propel any of the followers in such close quarters.

Great pull of that 100 Yaz by K-Town. That's gonna help! Brigadoon got a diamond... Matt Holliday... out of a challenge pack. Trying to sell him but it probably won't happen before the Cardinals FOTF missions get released. And Bedford Falls got the 96 OVR Willie McCovey from their challenge pack - a card I was actually thinking about buying someday. So that was cool.
And as always, Annandale is the poor little orphan kid, unloved and unrewarded.

In an otherwise mediocre season so far, Waffletown finally got out the big sticks (sorry, K-Town.... of course, when Mookie Betts makes a pitching appearance, you figure it's gonna be one of those games).... just nice to gain a good chunk of points (about 5000 overall).
I do have to question the sports-writer assigned to the game, as they highlighted Harry Hooper (who had a solid game, 2-3, 4 walks, 5 runs scored, 6 RBIs), and Yogi Berra (3-5, 4 runs scored, 2 RBIs), but failed to mention Ed Delahanty (3-6, 8 RBIs, 2 runs scored) edit: note to team.... perhaps you need to spread out some of those runs in the series (lost the other 3 games to K-Town 4-3, 12-9 and 7-1) Last edited by stl jason; 07-30-2020 at 08:40 PM. |

Iron All-Star Update
The standings for OL I227 at the All Star break...
(Sierra Vista's Duke Snider was MVP of the All-Star game, btw) Although Ft. Huachuca leads the standings, they have played the only 4 OL games on their schedule and will be ineligible for the title.

Southpaws Streak to Top of OL G305
Cary ripped off six straight OL victories to grab the pole position in the chase for the crown. The race still appears at least five deep, however, with a heavy schedule of games still on tap.

Newsom is Awesome
Nice, while in the middle of another also ran season to find a 5,000 point surprise like the one Bobo Newsom game to the Asylum faithful.

Terra Incognita still leads the pack but with each passing day the lead begins to dwindle. In ten games yesterday the Rustlers played at .500. Ewa Beach put up a 6-1 record to take second place from Waffletown. The Syrups had a chance to make a move yesterday with 13 OL games on their scheduled but finished 7-6.
PT Standings show the same two teams from yesterday still in playoff position, Terra Incognita and Ring Road with a few teams in striking range of at least a wildcard spot. Bluffton, Left Coast and Jefferson Valley are in the drop zone. As for my Jefferson Valley team I started a rebuild and have been to busy this week to finish it so the result doesn't surprise me. |

Shinbone finally built up enough points for a new pitcher and I nabbed a perfect Lefty Grove for 88K. In his first game he pitched 8 shutout innings giving up just 2 hits!!

Hello, I have one more team left out of my three per license to give this league a try. When would be the best time to start? It seems prices are inflated right now.
Do I just Crack some packs, and hope I get a few qualifying cards? Would the starting pp I get be enough to field a roster of 40 and 50 somethings in the auction house if I buy them? Finally looking at who's active, would friending people in Iron 227 be my best bet, since it seems it's the lowest active player roster judging by the spreadsheet of friends? I don't see any active rookie or stone leagues.

Ewa Beach goes 6-0 take the top spot from Terra Incognita.
Updating the original post. Ewa Beach has seven OL games remaining, a 5-2 record would clinch the crown assuming Terra Incognita sweeps all 13 of their remaining games. Waffletown also has 13 games remaining six of which are vs. Terra Incognita. The two teams may cancel each other out in the fight for the crown as the two have met 13 times already with Waffletown holding a 7 games to 6 edge. In PT play Terra Incognita is holding down the top wildcard and trails in their division by 3.5 games. In the AC Ring Road holds a lead in the Central with Ewa Beach in the top WC spot. Unfortunately there is more news as to who may be relegated. Jefferson Valley is almost assured drop. Hartford and Left Coast are currently in the relegation zone but both Bluffton and K-Town are right on the edge. Last edited by Edster007; 08-01-2020 at 08:44 AM. Reason: Added content |

When your team is ready post your team name and user name in this thread. Since you can have up to 30 friends it is always wise to friend teams above and below your level to count for promotions or relegations. |

This will give me a chance to get some points, and hopefully by the end of the week, I'll have enough points to buy non live cards, even if they're iron and bronze? If I buy and use live cards in the mean time for that week to potentially improve my pp, is that kosher? Obviously, not spending real money, just whatever I earn that week through achievement pp.

Southpaws Have OL G305 Sewn Up
There may be some iteration where Cary loses its remaining three games and Coney Island goes 20-0, but that's about it. Even Krikkit could not take over first with a sweep of its last OL games. The crowning of Cary is pretty much a formality.

You've pretty much got it. If you end up with top flight pack luck on your first pulls and your team is a high earning juggernaut, you might consider waiting an extra week to join OL. As far as flipping live cards, be sure to buy low and sell high so you don't hurt youjr long term budget. To second what edster said, friend all the people from your level and keep going up until you've filled your list. It'll save you a little time later. Good luck and welcome. |
