Leroy Reams (1969), Adrian Garrett (1966), Ron Law (1969)

I'm convinced there are no color shots of Jim Landis with either the Tigers or the Red Sox in '67. There is a great, half-page shot of Landis in the '67 revised Tigers yearbook.

As to Horton, the bizarre thing about his relationship with Topps was, he never signed a contract nor even answered their letters offering one. Yet he posed for them many, many times. Each spring training '64, '65, '66, '67, and in Yankee Stadium in '65, '66, maybe '67, and '69. Very, very strange stuff (as his sad story confirms).

Here are a few recently requested shots: Reams - in the Phils' minor league camp in '69, Adrian Garrett with the A's in '71, and a few Ron Law shots (Indians '69, Senators '70, Rangers '72).

Bob D. Johnson (1969) -1977 Braves Uniform

It may not be a large picture, Braves70, but the 1977 Bob Dale Johnson color picture does exist, and is in fact in the Pitchers' Pack. Appears to be part of the team picture…presumably if one can get ahold of that, you could blow it up to a suitable size.

Anyways, enjoy!

Thanks and request

Merkle923,

Thanks so much for ALL your work and pics that you have placed on this site. Man, there's pics of players that I have never seen before like that one of Allan Lewis.

I was wondering if you could help me with the following players with the same types that you have already uploaded.

1971 A's Curt Blefary
1971 A's Diego Segui
1971 John "Blue Moon" Odom
1971 A's Dick Green
1971 A's Bob Locker

I'm looking for these guys in the 1971 uniforms wearing this attached cap and vest jerseys.

Thanks,

BRobby05

Ron Stone - 1966

Oops looks like a duplicate post.

I will use this one to share a few guys who appeared in the 1976 SSPC baseball set who were never on any Topps cards. SSPC advertised itself as the "Pure Card Set" and featured only photos with no names or writing. The photos were all taken in 1975 to my knowledge and the writing on the backs was done by a young Keith Olberman.

Cards will be below:

1975 players in the SSPC set

As mentioned above, these guys were major leaguers in 1975 and never appeared on Topps cards (at least their own card):

Lafayette Currence (Brewers) / Tom Bianco (Brewers) / Larry Anderson (Brewers) (not to be confused with the long time reliever Larry Andersen) / Ron Dunn (Cubs) / Pat Scanlon (Expos)

Time-out from photos for a moment

In addition to collecting photos and creating baseball cards, I also love to find classic baseball game recordings. I know there are very few full games that are available on television from the 50s and 60s but there are some real gems out there from radio. One game I have always wanted to at least listen to is the 1955 No-hitter thrown by the Cubs Sam Jones. Does anyone know if it exists? If nothing else, I would love to hear the 9th inning as he walked the bases loaded, had a visit from the manager and then promptly struck out Dick Groat, Roberto Clemente and Frank Thomas to get the no-hitter. Must have been an amazing event to experience! I doubt that could ever happen nowadays.

Expos?

I've got a pile of Topps Vault stuff, but I'm sure they're easy enough to find, so I won't spam the thread unless requested.

Here are some rarer items:

Adolfo Phillips, chilling like a villain.

And, what the heck, one Topps Vault pic of Adolfo, while we're on the subject:

Adolfo Phillips was one of my all time favorite players. I was really disappointed when he got traded from the Cubs. Leo Durocher was really hard on him and so was Ron Santo. If only he hadnt gotten injured in spring training 1969, he may have had a full year in center that year for Chicago and who knows, maybe they would have won the pennant!

You might try baseballdirect dot com, they have a large selection of old broadcasts.

Jackie Brandt

That mustachioed SSPC Brewers pitcher is actually Rick Austin. The cards misidentified him and Larry Anderson (and, separately, Rick Manning and Duane Kuiper).

Wynne/Mets and Buzhardt/O's don't exist, to my knowledge. Others, like Jackie Brandt/Astros... do....

Quite A Debut!

Bravo to young Mr. Medica! (pictured above in Section 18638). He homered off Phillies' ace Cliff Lee in his major leagues debut yesterday.
