Slovakians

Bear,
Do you realize that you have San Marino listed as the birth country for all of your Slovakians and that none of them have their boxing records or other info printed in their bios? Just thought I should point that out.

I omitted the bios because they all linked to boxrec

Hadn't realized the country glitch, though. Thanks for pointing it out

It's no biggie but I have to take the time to add the career records and correct the country of origin myself in my game. I'm kind of anal about things like that. I guess that's why I like to do so many ratings.

I was in a rush to get them posted before I set off to Canastota for the IBHOF induction weekend. I'll be leaving Wed. I divide the drive there into two days. Looking forward to seeing Jofre, Austin and Icetea again.

I'll take more time with my next batch

Thank you for taking the time to post all of these fighters. I didn't realize that there were so many professional boxers from Slovakia!

If being in a rush gives us more fighters go ahead. I can always add what I require myself. These Slovakians must be the European version of Mexicans. A few good ones perhaps but most of them on call to do some canvas biting for the local promoter's pet. Some really dismal boxing records here.

I'm phantasizing with this one Rick Casares

As a teen, Rick won Golden Gloves titles in New Jersey at age 15 and had pro-boxing offers.
He returned to Florida, starred as an all-around collegiate athlete
He was the star of the Bears when I was a kid. In Chicago, back then you could get two Unitas cards for a Casares.

Cool! I've added him to my world. It's fun to do stuff like that in this game.

I remember Diehl's character Larry. He died in a 2-parter that featured Tex Cobb and a good fighter whose name escapes my old memory. Tex was shot and killed, and Diehl, who was undercover as a trainer, was given a drug overdose. His partner, Stan, cried as he held him in his arms at the end of the first part. Larry and Stan were usually the comic relief, but that scene was poignant.

You can watch it again on IMDB.

I added the characters to my 4F thread
