Deleting Schedules

Hey all,

Just have a quick question, am I able to delete or move all the 'real life schedules' IE florida_state_league_a_c_2009, major_league_ml_c_2015 etc and just keep the 'ILN' ones in the schedules folder in the OOTP16 folder? Mainly as I want to base my schedules off the ILN ones but haven't figured out a way to have my game load up the ILN ones instead of the real life ones.

Thanks

You shouldn't need to, but you definitely can. You have to change the schedule settings to disable interleague play before it will use the ILN schedules...

If you want to do this, just take the schedules you don't want to use and move them into a different folder on your computer.

Opps, I missed seeing the ILY, only saw ILN. I assume ILY is schedules with interleague enabled?

I'm guessing all these schedules are fine to use in my leagues depending if I have interleague enabled or disabled.

Yeah, that's a good plan. I think that's what I'll do

So, look in the manual. Lots of good information in there about schedules. Basically, each schedule has a certain number of games, interleague on or off, and balanced games on or off. Depending on how you have set up your league, it will automatically use the appropriate schedule file.

This is why it's not really necessary to remove the schedule files you don't want, although again, it can't hurt.

Depending on what you're trying to do, it is possible that there is not a schedule file to match what you want. In that case the people in the mods forum can probably help!

The only thing that people might overlook is that OOTP will automatically rotate between schedules with the same parameters. So for example, OOTP comes with three different schedules for 16-team leagues with 2 sub-leagues of 8 teams each, no divisions, with interleague play. The difference between them is that they have different numbers of interleague games. So unless you are careful to re-import the schedule you want every year, then some years your teams will play a ton of interleague games, and others relatively few.

You can work around this by copying the schedule and re-naming it with the name of your league and other relevant parameters, as the manual suggests (e.g. "my_fictional_league_ml_c_T16.lsdl"). Then OOTP will automatically stick with that schedule file.
