Colorado Rockies

Has anyone ever had a successful rotation? What kind of pitchers did it consist of? It seems impossible to even get a guy to perform at replacement level.

Load up on high ground out percentage pitchers. I traded for/signed 3 of the top 5 starters in ground out percent and took team ERA from 4.83 in 2015 to 3.74 in 2016 and came in first place.

In previous versions, Chad Bettis, Eddie Butler, Jordan Lyles, Tyler Chatwood have been serviceable to above average pitchers out of the Rockies current system. I tend to trade proven hitters for proven pitchers. Rockies system has quite a few prospects to fill positions at 3B, Outfield, C.

See this below. The 4 starters overlapped and I got 1000 plus saves from 2 closers.

The next one shows I had only 3 closers in 39 years.

The third shows park factors.

Blue Jays 2045 World Series Champions!! Only another 30 years...can't wait! Glad they could work that in before the Rockies two and a half decades of death over the league. The rest of the teams must of folded in the National League over and over again.

That's pretty cool that you've stuck with that game that long.

My texas fictional is going strong in 2095. I started it in OOTP 2006.

You're going to want to do 2 very important things. One is find good two way position players - guys who can both hit AND field at a high level. The other, is not just high GB pitchers, but high movement pitchers.

That being said...you want to do that for any team, whether it's Colorado or SD or Toronto or Philly.

Edit: You inspired me to take on the Rockies. After a year of rebuilding, so in 2016, I had a rotation of Harvey (used multiple top 5 picks/prospects to get him in July), Eddie Butler (3.21 ERA, 5 WAR pace as of Sept 1), Jordan Lyles (3.43 ERA, 3.8 WAR pace), Chad Bettis (3.66 ERA, 3.6 WAR pace) and Miguel Castro (5.18 ERA, 2 WAR pace). Pretty much good D and high movement is the key to good ERA. Castro probably won't be in my future rotation cause his movement is too low, but yeah.
