All Time All Star Historical Draft

How do you do this that's advertised by OOTP 16?

Random Debut Historical Mode - Yogi Berra, Miguel Cabrera and Rogers Hornsby in the same draft? It can happen in this revolutionary new mode!

This is one of the absolute main reasons I want OOTP 16!

No guarantee that those 3 will be in the same draft or even play together in all the years you play Rd til you run out of players. Rajah is almost in every inaugural draft. I have played 8 reincarnations of RD and Rajah is always on my team. My latest has him at 19. I deleted 30 yr old Lou Gehrig, so he should reappear later on as a rookie. I love Rd but would like to see a better distribution of talent as there are very few quality RF in year 1. Almost every team has a superstar 1B. i have 19 yr old Mattingly & 31 yr old Keith Hernandez. I use Sprirtze DB.20 yr old Satchel Paige was #1 pick by Boston.

I cant figure out how to have a good draft supply. I go to historical league and I leave the minimum and maximum years as is like (1870 - 2014) figuring it will load up the list. Sometimes I get over 1,000 players for the draft and a couple of other times it was like 140 players! 140 players for a whole draft???

Am I doing something wrong? How can I have an all time historical draft and get a good number of players to draft??

If you're using the historical wizard to setup a random debut league, you should get enough players for __ number of draft rounds no matter what year you choose. Not sure why you are seeing such differences in numbers. I'm really hoping some day Markus gives us the user the ability to manually select how many players import for the inaugural draft.

Right now, upon setup, using a injury setting above low is pretty much impossible. In fact, very low is probably the best setting until you accumulate enough players. What I do to get around this, is to delete teams and go with a smaller league setup than the real life MLB. My current random debut league started in 1946, as a 12 team league, just one subleague. Deleting 4 teams gave me enough players to use the high injury setting.

One other thing....and this is strictly my opinion, so please take it as that. I would set your minimum year at 1901 or later. The pre 1900 guys tend to put up some rather wanky stats. Especially the pitchers. Again, just my opinion, but until Markus added the minimum/maximum feature, I struggled to get into random debut. Now, I'm addicted and even when I have a fictional or straight historical league going, I always have a RDL going too.

There still is a all time greats quickstart that comes with the game. I've never actually played it. I wonder what happens when you move from one season to the next, or is it a one and done type setup?
