Online league games. Is it possible to manage a team (coach from bench) vs. a friend online?

In OOTP21, is it possible to manage a team (by that, I mean coach a simulated game from the bench) in an online game against a friend who is also managing/coaching his team from his own home?

To be more clear, I'd like to be able to manage a team from the bench (work the lineup and pitching changes, advise bunting, stealing etc) in a simulated game against a friend who is managing/coaching his own team. We'd each be in our own homes, managing/coaching an online game against each other in OOTP21.

I'm not looking to "play" as the players, and not looking to just run a simulation and see who won. I'd like to do in-game managing vs. a friend.

Is this at all possible in OOTP21?

If anyone ever played the old Earl Weaver baseball game, 25 years ago, that's what I'm hoping to achieve, but online so that we're not both sitting at a computer together.
