KBO Playoff Format

Just curious, with KBO being on ESPN last night and they discussed the differences...did anyone start a new game and put that playoff format in MLB today?

I think you'd be very hard pressed to put that into MLB, as the KBO has a single-division format. The Dodgers would LOVE it though.

That being said, the KBO is fantastic.

Agreed. The loss of revenue wouldn't work. But I still thought it would be cool for OOTP. I've run it and it's pretty cool. I have two divisions in each league in my games, so it works out pretty well.

OK...I've been playing with this format. This format is AWESOME. I mean seriously, it brings excitement even with the two division winners. I know nowadays they play for HFA...but it's a whole different ballgame (haha) when they're playing for a trip to the League Championship Series. I use the 5 team playoff format in both leagues like they do in KBO.

Not a fan of the fact MLB wants even more playoff teams...to me, less is more, the regular season needs to mean something. However, if you HAD to have several teams, I love the way the KBO does it. Not sure if the off time hurts the higher-ranked teams, but in a vacuum, I love the idea of the lesser teams having to earn their way to the top....you get the chance for a miracle run, but you reward great teams at the same time.
