Training not simulated ?

Hi, I'm totally new at ootp and at baseball in general.
A quick question: is training not simulated ? I'm referring to Football manager (soccer) where you can decide which type of training for your team, who are the training managers (for attack, for defense, etc), which player should rest, etc.

Can't see anything like this in ootp21.

Any idea why ? (maybe it makes sense or maybe I didn't find where)

I'm a bit overwhelmed by the game ;-)

I don't know anything about football manager, or football, so...

But, no, you can't train your players on any specific skills.

You can hire batting and pitching coaches which influence their development.

There's a link in my signature for user studies. I recently did a study that doesn't confirm that coaches impact performance.

It didn't test if they impact development.

I'm however discovering this great sport by learning how to play OOTP21. And so far, I'm having a lot of fun ! So please, excuse my baseball ignorance.
