I play 100% fictional. Here's my problem and I have not figured out how to correct it. I try to make the game as challenging as possible. I'm allowed a free agent every five years. My Asst. GM is in charge of the draft. I can have one waiver payer per year. It takes me an average of 6 to 7 years to make the playoffs and or the worls series. The team is great. Average age, maybe 29. I only use current ratings (no potential). This last year my team made it to the finals of the World Series. Three years in a row I have made the playoffs. Then the bottom falls out. Last place, 20 games under 500. I think something is wrong somewhere in my setup, but don't know what. Any ideas why? Thanks

Players can fall off of a cliff at around 30, especially with the default settings. They won’t always but if your team on average is about 29, that means they’re likely to have as many over the hill guys as in their prime guys and that in turn means a decline from one year to the next is likely.
