Random Debut Year DB now available

Random Debut Year DB v.1.0 (10-10-06) is available for download (see link in signature).

Based on Arod23/Garlon2006 Career Average DB

The debut year of all players has been randomly assigned to the years 1900-2006. The first year of importing should be 1901. However, 388 players have been randomly assigned to the year 1900, so in 1901, those players will have ratings based on their careers rather than their rookie year to give the league some stability. 1901 will also import an additional 90 rookies for a total of 478 players in the intial year in order to hold a substantial draft.

Between 80-120 real rookies will import each year up to year 2006. Talent ratings should be based on remaining career, while current ratings are based on players' stats in their debut years.

Hey AROD. First of all I want to thank you for all your work. I am using your 2.0 right now which goes up to 2005. I was just wondering when you would have this version updated to include 2006? Everything is great with the 2.0 version. Love how the player debuts in the first season where they really became the player they were supposed to be. Thanks again AROD

Surprised that it took so long, but you are the first to ask about adding 2006 stats. Usually, someone asks the day after the season ends. The Lahman updates of which our DB is based don't come out until late in the year. Sometimes in November but last year's was not finished until January. The good news (for us anyway) is that all we have to do is append the 2006 data to the existing database. All of the data manipulation that we had to do was really for the pre-modern baseball years.

Great AROD. I just wasnt sure of the timetable of when things come out. I will be on the lookout for it. The 2006 rookies should be great with guys like Hanley Ramirez, Anibal Sanchez and a host of other guys the Red Sox traded away :-( Thanks again AROD
