Suggestion:
In minor league player development, allow GM's to target specific players for receiving more attention from minor league coaching staffs and/or a larger amount of cash geared directly to improving their development specifically. Each coach could have a certain number of teaching slots, possibly proportional to how good their coach ratings are, and each player you wish special attention for could take up a slot. This would have the affect of increasing that players chances of developing closer to their potential ratings and not recieving the talent drop of death. In addition, this could allow for a type of random event system, in which events like a coach informing you after a certain amount of time that a player isn't going to become a universal threat, and would you rather develop that player as a contact or power type hitter. Reason: Partly for realism, higher draft pick type players likely receive more coach time and closer scrutiny than joe average scrub does. Partly as a way to avoid the frustration of seeing all of several rounds high draft picks become busts. It would add more depth to the development process, which right seems very abstract and non-interactive. Priority Medium |

Player Rating Scale
Suggestion: In addition to the several scales available now, add the option of rating 20-80 by five point increments (20, 25, 30, 35, etc.). EDIT: This would apply to Overall and Potential, since it already exists for the other ratings.
Reason: This is the scale used by real major league scouts. Note that they vary it a bit depending upon which tool is being rated (2-8 — which is really 20-80 by tens — for control or ability to hit for power, for examples), but that's an unneccessary complication. Note also that there should be an option to view Overall/Potential in the same scale used for other ratings. This scale gives thirteen possible ratings, which fits it inbetween the current 1-10 and 1-20 scales. Priority: Low. It would be nice — and reasonable — but I'm not about to threaten to not buy OotPB 10 over this. It should also be dead simple to implement, since any rating on the current 20-80 scale would always convert easily. (ie. 20-22 = 20; 23-27 =25; etc.) Last edited by Curtis; 04-16-2009 at 02:29 AM. |

Suggestion: Allow Promotion and Relegation as an option
Reason: Gives a new impetus for leagues, and allows teams to work their way up or down, gives teams reasons to play even if they're having bad seasons (before, if you're not going to be in the playoffs, you just quick sim out) Priority: Medium (to me) |

Suggestion-A planer of sorts that lets you see where your club will be at different periods in time. You could see salary so you know when that big contract is off the books. You could see prospects and where scouts think they will be in time. There is already somethig like this for salary, but a full fledged drag and drop screen would be better. You could have you manager, scout, ect. create plans so you know if you are seeing eye to eye.
You could also get notices in your inbox that tell you when your plans have a prospect coming to the majors, a contract to resign, ect. Your personel could also give sugestions on which free agent would best fill gaps you have. Reason- It is very frustrating when I have to look at 3 or 4 different screens just to figure out who to keep and who to let go. I like to have a screen to plan the future. It would create a more organized way to manage a ballclub. Plus I think it would go great with blackened30's idea. Priority- adding the bare stucture of a planner- high - fine tuning it and adding the details- low Last edited by Legacyof22; 01-03-2009 at 02:21 AM. |

A Real Hall of Fame
Suggestion: Would be cool if there were a virtual "Hall of Fame" that we could visit by clicking on a tab from League History. Possibly with the player images next to their history or career totals and awards/achievements. Maybe some plaque graphics or something.
Reason: no real reason...just make it special to be in the Hall. An * is nice and all, but...well...you know. ![]() Priority: Low

Suggestion:
Fix the display order of player records so that it correctly represents his teams in order. Happens incorrectly on many screens. Reason: A player is traded midseason 2000 from PHI to CLE. When looking at the playing records you often see something like 1998 PHI... 1999 PHI... 2000 CLE... 2000 PHI... 2001 CLE... 2002 CLE... He was not traded 3 times. Priority: Medium. Its annoying and should be presented correctly. |

Suggestion
Overhaul the Amateur Draft Reason The Amateur Draft is extremely rudimentary right now. There is absolutely no life to it. Change it to where players out of high school and college don't have to sign, and add a "draft pick" contract negotiation to the process. Also, be able to offer signing bonuses to draft picks. Be able to track the number of times a player is drafted, and by whom in their history. Priority Very High |

Suggestion
Adding more fielding strategies. Example: Outfielders: Guard Lines (For Pull hitters), Shade Left, and Shade Right, rather than have OF jsut play Up, Back or Normal. Reason Ads a little more depth/immersion in managing each actual game. Dunno how many time I would love to pull my fielders to the left side with a strong right-handed pull-hitter up. Priority Iguess should be about medium Priority.(Sorry if this has already been suggested here. I got here late lol. I made this suggestion a long time ago, like a year ago now.) |

Suggestion:
Fix the problem with minor league lineups where (at least) the catcher position platoon (and maybe others) is reversed. The game plays the catchers opposite how they are set up. Reason: Its a bug. Priority: High. Its a bug. |

Daily Highlight Reel
Suggestion:
Using Win Probability Added (WPA), create a daily replay/recap of the biggest game-changing plays that day. Simply grab the top ten changes in WPA for any given day. Reason: Would allow for a great daily summary of exciting moments. If replays are enabled, then you could go back and watch those moments. If not, a simple listing would be nice. Priority: Medium |

Suggestion:
Giving the user an option when simming weeks or months at a time, to see only news, stats, and scores from their teams, rather than the whole league. Reason I find it much more fun to be a general manager than a day by day guy, and its hard to pick out news of stuff when it sims so fast and it has the news of the entire league. Maybe also allow for a slower simming option, that allows you to see daily scores, etc. Without clicking. Priority Pretty high for me, it would really help me get more involved, and enjoy it, while simming a lot and really fast. |

Add Ballpark Factor Histories
Suggestion:
Add Park Factor histories available by team or by ballpark. This wouldn't require any more than last season and the history over the last two to three seasons. I'll try to attach a sample from Scouting Notebook. Include, as pictured, how this park ranked in the league. * *For some reason the forum isn't allowing an attachment. Had to attach it to the next post. Wish I could find this on the net but, sorry, I couldn't. Reason Enhance the experience, history, and personalization of the ballpark, making it even more evident (as goes stats) how the park treats pitchers and hitters alike, including error likelihood. Brings about a real sensation of what kind of #'s are reflected by the park factors. Priority High. IMHO, a feature that would really add another new dimension to the game.

Suggestion
Add accurate manager history from team page. You should be able to go to any given year and see who the manager was while looking at that year's performance. There's room on the tables as they exist. For instance: Arkansas Ravens 1982 - Jefferson Rells OR Arkansas Ravens 1986 - Jefferson Rells (fired Jun 15) Roland Hollis (hired Jun 30) Reason Completes team history and helps visually measure the effect of your manager. Adds even more depth to personnel immersion and may provide some data for a Manager of the Year award - if that's ever implemented. (nudge, nudge) Priority Medium to High
