Possible bugs re Salary cap and Dressed Players
I'm sorry if I missed this mentioned elsewhere. I always have a quick search but I may not get everything I'm looking for.
Salary Cap: When I start the game as is, the salaries are humongous but the salary cap is about 70 million. My salary total is way more than that (a lot of guys making $10m plus). Therefore I always run into the "I'm over the salary cap" game stopper. How do I get out of it? The only way I know how is to edit players salaries. I can't edit the salary cap. Is this a bug? Is this something that will be rectified? If so, I've mentioned it and I'll shut up about it. If not, then something is seriously broken. Dressing Players: In the game options it's fixed at 18 players can be dressed and I cannot change it. Should I be able to? The default should be 20 (18 skaters and 2 goalies) as that's the league (NHL) rule. It's a real pain with these mini-lineups. Can I look forward to being able to set the lineup size in options? Also, after playing a while I will have 17 dressed players and when I try and add an 18th I am told that I already have 18 dressed. That's not true, I really only have 17. It was fine when the game started but got screwed up along the way (I don't know where). So this appears to be a bug that I haven't seen reported (although it may be). I'm done. Keep on working or there will be no soup for you!

Team finances are supposed to be addressed in the next patch I believe. For now I just edited the salaries of the players on my team to get under the cap. As for the roster, I have encountered a couple of issues with dressed players but unless you could be more specific or post a screen shot of your roster overview I can't give you any suggestions.

Once you're over the cap, you're screwed. You can't trade anyone because as you know (if you've played), a trade cannot be completed immediately. The other team takes a few days to "think about it". There was no salary cap until just a few years ago so there should probably be an option to turn it off (I think there is supposed to be). The salaries are wacko and I'm assuming (always dangerous) that this will be rectified in the future. Whether or not they will be era related, I have no idea, and if not I understand. The important thing is to keep everything in balance. I don't think a screen shot would help because over the cap using game assigned salaries is over the cap. I really don't think you should be over the cap when you start a game. I will assume (dangerous again) that it's a bug and will be fixed.

My screen shot suggestion was to try and help you figure out the dressed player problem you were having. I should have separated into two paragraphs instead of a run on which probably confused things.
As I mentioned in my previous post, get around the cap by editing salaries until a patch comes out that corrects the issue. It worked for me. You only need to do it for the team you control and not the entire league. |

As for the dressing issue, it's too much of a pain to post a screen shot as I don't have a web site. As I said it's an intermittent problem which are the worst and you have to take someones word for it. I find it difficult to believe this has only happened to me. I will wait until the next better and check this out again. If it's still there I will provide screen shots for those that need them. No problem.
