Activation woes

Just bought the game a few minutes ago. Was excited to see someone take up the challenge of making a hockey sim where EHM2007 left off.

Anyways, I installed the game and got to the screen where I can input my serial and the program crashes as soon as I press ok. I get the message, Franchise Hockey Manager 2014 has stopped working.

Any help appreciated,

I get the very same error on my newly-built desktop.

My older desktop can activate past this screen and start a game, but I'd prefer to play on my newer machine.

Both are running Windows 8 64-bit.

I Havn't been able to activate for about a month now, will try every few days and it keeps telling me the game could not be activated

I don't know what to do
