Real life coaches, managers and/or owners

I've searched the forums but can't find a definitive answer...is there any way you can import real-life coaches, managers and/or owners into an historical league?

Technically no. There is a work around for any coach or MGR with former ML experience. Import them as a player at the age they are for that season retire them then turn them into a coach then add them to the team you want them on.
As far as owners i use Wikipedia to find their DOB place of birth etc and then Google images for a photo or a photo i can use to make a FG from. In an old White Sox league I had every owner from Commie to Reinsdorf. i used pictures for Allyn & Veeck. Commie was the only one who i had used his player facegen.

What year are you in? i have FG for many mgrs 1999 on.

Thanks for the reply. I was expecting the answer to be as you supplied.

My league begins in 1940 and I was after the original "characters" of baseball but I wold be grateful for any FG's that have been produced.

I can only find his one right now. And Grace, his daughter? owned the Sox in 40. Veeck is the only other one I have right now from around that era. In both my historical leagues I have not made FG's for many of the owners of the 30's.

If you had imported complete history when creating the league you can just search the player and if they are already retired right click and "turn into coach".

Retrosheet has a list of historic coaches.

I have owner names, GM names (photos for some) and coaching staffs for all 16 teams in 1940

I'll post them here

As The Game stated, bext thing to do is before the season, look at 1941 Boston Red Sox in Wikipedia it will show the Owner, manager and scroll down to roster will be the coaching staff

Scroll down more and you will see a bar with Boston red sox, click show and it will show Owners and executives, click that and you will see GMs, Presidents and sometimes Scouting directors

Once you get around 1960, Baseball reference or baseball america will have Scouting Dir and Gms

I forgot about The Baseball Cube. If you click Roster then scroll down you will see all personal for the team. To see American league you may have to Google 1940 Boston RedSox the baseball cube, since i have yet to figure out how to pull up the other league from its website.
This is what I have used to make sure coaching staffs were correct when i started my EBL vs MLB league in 1999 even before OOTP had accurate Mgrs.

you can add photos/Facegen under Editor now. Put yourself in Commish mode.

PM your email, I'll send a zip of my photos folder to you

and Baseball cube is great but from the 40's on...if you look at the team's page on wikipedia, it will have the coaches there in the roster section
and it's easier to jump around team per team

Also, if you name your owner/gm/scouting guy correctly as well as the photo and have the option to look facegen first, photo second, if you change their facial type (asian african) and back again it changes automatically without having to search for it in your files.
