Historical Managers

Just wondering, do historical managers have any effect on your team? In other words, would having Joe Torre or Earl Weaver manage a fictional team be better then a randomly produced fictional manager? How would you place a historical manager?

There is a historical manager mod, that has characteristics for managers (coaching and strategy). I think it is on OOTPmods. Just moving a player to manager (historically speaking) won't do anything.
