Playing As A Manager For A Rookie Team....

I've just started getting in to baseball and still trying to familiarize myself with the game in real life and on OOTP. I recently made a fictional league in which I was using the MLB and Japanese league format (with minor teams). I decided to start at the bottom so I started "unemployed." Then I accepted a contract from a Rookie League team. Everything was going smoothly until I tried to simulate to my games. I began losing my players to upper A series teams and would get some players from those leagues in transactions. I knew things like this would happen since I'm managing a minor team and I have no GM powers. As I lost players, my batting lineup would become a mess so I tried to get my bench coach to auto-set my batting lineups and I'd worry about my pitchers, but I soon found out that my team doesn't have a bench coach on a payroll so I can't do that.

Is there anyway I can force my Rookie League team to hire one so fixing my batting lineup wouldn't take so long every time players come and go?

I also couldn't play my games but my starting pitcher that hadn't promoted to a better league had W-L and scores but when I pressed the boxscore it would go to error page. Yet no teams in my league had played and the sim would pass game day yet I still hadn't played my opening day game yet. How can I be able to play my games?

If any one has any suggestions that could make my time on OOTP Baseball 16 better and a bit more of a "journey" from the bottom to the top, then please don't hesitate telling me!

Sorry for writing so much

If I was you, I would take a job as the manager of a big league club and start learning the game this way. Managing in the OOTP minors is extremely tough and putting it mildly, very frustrating. Just my 2 cents.

Can I start with a big league team from another league such as Puerto Rico?

Yes, as long as you include that league when you start the game. I also second starting with a big league team. In the minors too many decisions are out of your hands, plus your players are constantly changing.
