Historical Minor League Player Question

I want to check on a player who was in the minor leagues in 1934. Is there a way to get a list of or sort through a list of minor leaguers to find a specific player for any year? Or do I have to start a game in 1934, check real minor leagues and see I can find it that way?

Start out with Baseball Reference. That will give you a better idea of where to look, since the real minors are quite a haystack.
