Feeder Leagues

I know the game has evolved quite a bit in regards to draft prospects,

I have always struggled with Feeder Leagues and getting right talent pool, are feeder leagues absolutely necessary or will the game generate a strong enough talent pool on its own using the generated player model?

What benefits are their to using a feeder league vs the game just making players for the draft.

for one thing, players from feeder leagues have a history, which may or may not be important to your game.

i never used them much in the past, but decided to give them a go when i recreated my fictional historical league with 17, and find i like them. My network isn't very big, just 4 HS and 2 college, but with the historical rookies coming in - seems to be working fine.

Whether or not you have a feeder league, the draft pool will be similar in terms of the number of talented prospects vs. scrubeenies.

As Mitchkenn said, having feeder leagues will give you stats for some draftees. You may want those, you may not. It's your call.
