Stop Throwing a Pitch?
I have a pitcher whose stuff is electric, but has one pitch that's just not good. Cutter, Curve, and Slider all 77+. Change up 18. Other than going to commissioner mode and just editing out the pitch, is there any way to get him to stop throwing it? It feels like it's the only time he's hittable.

how often a pitch is thrown is at least somewhat controlled by how well the pitch is rated relative to the pitcher's other available pitches.
possibly 2 pitches rated the same are not evenly split, but it still has an effect. I'm not making an other inferences beyond the basics of what i said above. *it has an effect, but may not be the only thing that matters. anyay, if one pitch is very poorly rated compared to other choices, it should not be thrown often. you'd have to watch a few of his games and the pbp ticker to see what "seldomly" means. So, not much you can do. however, probably not a big deal if very low rated pitch. anythign approaching ~average can provide a benefit to other highly rated pitches that exist. definitely average+. --- why comm mode to change it isn't so bad: imo, i make executive decisions like what happens in RL... sure, the player has input, but so does the organization. i just assume i convince the player to do what i want or i put them out on the street jkIf i remove a pitch, i have rules i live by to make it ~fair. one of which is: once the choice is made, it must be done.. no hindsight, buyer's remorse nonsense... so, if accuracy is the cause, i stick with the decision and i hurt the player and my organization when i remove a decent pitch, *unknowingly* -- mistakes like this happen in RL, because we cannot see the future. these decisions happen every year in every organization. e.g. you tell a young prospect to stop throwing that 18/100 potential changeup and focus on the other 2 pitches he has that show potential. i'd assume this happens often when a player is transitioning from SP to RP in RL. (likely the cause of the transition being the crappy 3rd pitch) if you have a very high TCR nearing ~200, you may not want to do this until age of mid-20's / or by their MLB debut, if not too young. the lower the TCR value, the safer you shoudl feel about lopping off a pitch that is a very low rating. very low = whatever you choose it to be.
