Import Negro League Stars

Hi -

I am trying to find the easiest way of importing only a few of the greats from the Negro Leagues into a historical MLB season. For example if I want to bring in Statchel Paige, I know to go to the free agent screen and import him individually from the minor leagues master database.

When i do that, I pick a season where Paige is fairly young, like say 1935. When he imports however, he is created with terrible ratings. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can correct it?
