Hi guys,

Please post any issues with the historical db's here. Players importing multiple times, not importing, crazy ratings, wrong stats or other stuff like this. Garlon, Bigrod and Lukas will do their best to respond and to fix any issues.

Thanks for your help in making OOTP better!

Babe doesn't change over to a fielder in 1918...on default settings.

With recalc on and the dev engine off?

Yes and if you change him manually it changes him back to a reliever when you sim a season..This is with historical minors off and finances off and the rest default settings

I also had Allow 2 way players unchecked,i think that is the issue, i tested it with it checked and he changed over like he should.

Ah, ok! Thanks for the clarification.

Not really a bug then. As a two way player, it's pretty cosmetic which position he's listed as, given the game will play him at each.

not sure if this exactly the right spot, but just caught Cameron Maybin having an incorrect history in the current-day MLB game - has his 2021 MLB experience with the Yankees instead of the Mets (hard to forget a guy you watched go 1 for 28!)

Playing historical, 1977 season and the Indians are already called the Cleveland Guardians. Not sure about other seasons.

Yes, that's a requirement of the licensing agreement, already discussed at great length on the main OOTP 23 forums

Wanted to point out a possible bug.
Began a 1983 game, no minors. 3 year recalc.
Below are screen shots of George Bell of the Blue Jays and Jose Deleon of the Pirates. Their potential ratings are very odd. This happens to a mnumber of other young players. However if I pull them up in another free agent year (say Bell in 1981 his first, or say 1986, the potential ratings come out correct) as seen in the final screenshot. My guess if one was playing from 1871 the potentials may be fine, but start in an individual year they might be wonky, especially if someone wanted to play development and not recalc going forward.

The historical db pulls randomly from all towns named the same in game. It's a legacy bug that really needs to be fixed, but it is a bit more complicated to do so than it would seem.

I am in 1914, playing a historical Major League. Every few days the game will not advance because teams keep running out of players. How can this be? Yes, I do have it set to use accurate players and transactions, but how is it if it is "accurate" that every team ends up with not enough players to field a team. I am sure that did not happen in real life. What do I need to do? I ended up switching to commish mode and adding players from free agency to give enough players. Then the next day a different team has the same problem. This is too much!

Why offer playing historical seasons when the game does not allow it? Just curious...

I created the 1914 season with real lineups & transactions, simmed the season, and had no problems.

If I recall you were a big part of working on the negro league players into the game since back in the inception of the minor league db
I just called up 1930 and it seems like the opposite might be occuring, when before the negro players were vastly under rated, they now might be over rated. 8 of the top 10 hitters are all negro players and the negro batting under the hood ratings are very high. One player (palm) has a higher potential for HR career wise than Babe Ruth.
Same for pitchers, except it seems Satchel Paige who I would class as quite under rated.

Thought you guys might want to look at the rating values for the negro league players going through 1920's and 30's

No, sorry, that wasn't me. I wasn't involved in putting that database together. Check with LansdowneSt. He's been tracking the negro league changes for OOTP23.
