Reno Claimjumpers
Originally a hockey set but decided to make a baseball set too. The first four are "printed" on old newsprint to add texture and depth, but the last one is just done normally. If you prefer that style there is a normal version of everything in the drive.

Yeah, I get that! So, I play a lot of different management games and use these for all of them. I'm annoyed with myself actually because I've been designing almost specifically for Franchise Hockey Manager and adding some hockey elements or at least wording and I've already wanted to use some of those teams for Football Manager and some of the Action Sports games. I know there are some baseball specific ones in the drive but most of the recent ones have either been hockey or generic.

I'm not really updating this thread much but I wanted to share some state badges I made that are baseball specific.
Shout-out to the Reddit vexillology community for some of these ideas and alternates when the state flag sucked. There's one for every state, territory, and a few break-a-way/ alternate history states. You can use the link below or find it as a folder in the main linked Google Drive folder in my signature. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/f...NWlGJAxrKwh21t

Still updating the main drive and there are over 3,000 assets there now. A lot of repeats, improvements, variations.
Right now I'm working on having a badge, a secondary logo, a letter logo, and a minor league logo from a nearby town for every club. Here are some main badges for Anchorage, Saint Cloud, Eugene, Honolulu, and Seattle

I like the state ones, I'll have to look some of those up.
Are you drawing these animals, or getting them from a pack of some kind? I always love how much detail you fit into your logos, I feel like I'm always running out of space. Usually I don't try for complex borders and insects because the main art and text is already straining readability, but you always fit in little extra ring flourishes and the text is clear. |

I'm not drawing them, I'm using stock images and using Illustrator to manipulate them mostly. I'll draw on top of things, or add to images with the pen tool. I use the puppet warp tool along with some of the other tools. I really love Noun Project for images. I also love to harvest stuff out of old archival sources like comic books, stuff I find on Flickr Commons, etc. Of course some are the more basic stock images like the ones that come with my Adobe subscription. Oh, I've purchased a few things from RetroSupply and VectorLab among other places too. One of the things I really like to do is take complicated images and sort of "dumb them down" by taking most of the various colors out and flatten the perspectives to be more logo-ish. I've taken some drawing classes recently and am pretty decent generally, but I haven't really "unlocked" the skill of drawing on my digital pad. I need to practice more. And thanks for appreciating the flourishes... I think I'm responding to the graphic design trend of minimalism by going maximalist. I love the little easter egg things. Even if they aren't totally visible in the game, its just kind of cool to know they are there sometimes. Your stuff has been looking great! I don't comment much, but I always check in on your posts and am constantly impressed!

Excellent work as always, hurricanekevin.
I am still using your wonderful logos you did for my Islandian Pro Alliance dynasty league. I am from Louisiana. The fleur-de-lis with the pelican intertwined in it is really superb. Great idea. |

Being old picky me, you should make the "O" in "State of Louisiana" a capital letter. Personally, I like that better.

Yeah, just adding some variation. I might redo this one because I think I want a brighter yellow/gold. If I do, I'll go ALL CAPS for you

This one is just too ridiculous not to share
Walla Walla Wine Kings Did you know Walla Walla is the wine capital of Washington with 120 wineries in the area?

Just a thought.... how would a wine glass holding a baseball work? Just place it in place of the small baseball diamonds. The small diamonds on the border of the logo. Don't change anything else. It's perfect! That way you get a baseball connection, too. Last edited by Eugene Church; 12-16-2024 at 10:56 AM. |

Sorry for the slow reply EC, I was out of the country for a few weeks.
Hope you are having a nice holiday season! Thanks for the suggestion, that might look pretty cool. Unfortunately I don't save any of the original files to edit. If I ever recreate/ update this one I'll try it though!
