Trying to install on my laptop running windows 11. It installed but when I tried to install 27 patch it says elicen40 not found. Akso I cannot find a config file anywhere. Any ideas?

In windows the config.ini is at:

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\Title Bout Championship Boxing 2.5

You might not have the Roaming folder, Out of the Park Developments could be directly under AppData.

The AppData folder is hidden by default, so make sure you're set to view hidden items.

elicen40 should be under C:\Program Files (x$$)\Out of the Park Developments\Title Bout Championship Boxing 2.5. You'll need to activate your license before installing the patch.

Haven't played this in over a decade, but got the sudden urge to start up a new universe.

I have a license, but it seems the license servers no longer work.

Does anyone know of a workaround?

Thank you for the suggestion, but when I did email them a few days ago I got a bounce back error "451 4.4.4 Mail received as unauthenticated, incoming to a recipient domain configured in a hosted tenant which has no mail-enabled subscriptions." which according to Microsoft means that there are no licensed mailboxes for the recipient.

I also used their contact form on their website, but I'm guessing that will not work either, as it probably sends an email to the elicense.com domain, which will probably experience the same issue with delivery.

I'm hoping it's just a temporary service outage during the holidays.

I've got 2013 working the way I want so far, and hopefully don't encounter the "everyone's career stage goes to prime" bug haha.

Try contacting Andreas Raht via email. He's a very nice chap and may be able to restore your game, provided you have a viable license.

Thank you for the suggestion. I've actually got 2013 to behave after some testing, so I'll continue using that for now. If it goes off the rails again, I'll try reaching out to Andreas.

I emailed Andreas and got a response from support at OOTP. eLicense has shut down their licensing servers so it will not be possible to license TBCB 2.5 going forward. There are no plans to work on DRM free version as it is an old game.

2013 works for me as long as I don't import boxers using tbdx files.

Not great news for current 2.5 owners though if they want to play it on a new computer.

If no one wants to take ownership of the game then let it go. There should be some way to continue playing TB 2.5 for anyone who wants to. It's not like it's competition for anyone else.

Looking at this discussion and disappointed to hear about shutting down the license site for 2.5. I've tried the PC games for TB ll, LOB, The old Data Boxing which I got running on Linux and I still keep coming back to the old TB2.5. just has the best features! Also the vast fighter DBs that have been created over the years.

Currently I run TB2.5 on Linux Mint thru use of Wine. Do hope I can keep it running there!

Recently I saw some other thread that had a place to download a bunch of the old TB files from version 1 up through 2.5.27. Does what is there in any way allow you to fresh load TB and run it without the eLicense up any longer?
