Replay game based on game logs?

Is there a modder out there who could create a program to allow owners in online leagues to watch their games? I assume a program like this would use game logs to produce the info. It would be really nice if this was a feature in the game, and I think I've seen it suggested. There is a great mod out there for Bowl Bound College Football that does just this, and it helps owners to get into their teams that much more. I wish I had the talent to do this, but unfortunately I don't. Any thoughts? |

Get out of my head! I have already thought about this. I am thinking of making it a JavaAPP, like watching the game on MLB.COM.

Man, that would be sweet. That is the one thing I miss from online leagues, not being able to watch the games. |

I reported it as a missing feature from 6.5, too. We used to broadcast the All-Star Game live. We'll miss the updating scoreboard a little this season, but we'll still have all the geeks on TeamSpeak while I read the play-by-play. God, we're such dorks... A scoreboard that would allow you to click on a button and have the game replayed from the game log like on MLB.com would be incredible!!

Actually... There is a simple way for me to still broadcast games live. But, it requires you to play the game a 'little' different. When you are playing a game, if you click on the BOX SCORE tab, it will create the box score for you on the fly, same thing with the play by play. In fact, if you can view the other games in progress and look at their box scores, it will create them in the HTML folder. Now, a program could be written to monitor that folder for any changes. It could then upload the files to a server and put it in a dynamic html file. So, it would actually create a file called event.html, which would then be set to auto refresh every minute. When it autorefreshes, it would show the latest upload. However, it would require you to go and click on the box score when you wanted it uploaded. Which you could do after every play, between innings or whenever you feel like it. I tried to get them to add a 'new feature' that would let you turn on a AUTO PBP that would just create the file automatically, but it went to a deaf ear. (Well, they did not even reply to it).

That wouldn't be too bad for a live broadcast. I still like the idea of replaying the game from the logs, though.
