				Accidental Player Release

Over 100 games into the season, and while trying to call up a 5 star prospect, I must have hit release player instead. No checking to be sure (like the game does with the DL), no notice I let him go. I found him on another team's roster.

Any way to go back (seems like the auto-save function ruins that)...to force a trade to get him back. Anything? He was one of my two future cornerstones...means I need to start over, and if hitting a tiny button right next to another tiny button ruins the game every time, I think I may need to stop playing this one, as much fun as it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Click there. You can force a trade, or release him with team xxx Ang pick him back up. Pretty lame you'd stop playing a game over accidentally hitting the wrong button. If you do it more then once as your post says "and if hitting a tiny button right next to another tiny button ruins the game every time, I think I may need to stop playing this one". User error not an error with the game. |

I suspect that OP was "on autopilot", as I often am when going quickly through screens, only to ask myself "what exactly did that last screen say???" Last edited by IAmC; 04-30-2013 at 11:20 PM. |

If you released him shouldn't he be in the free agent pool?

				Accidental Player Release

I just tried to release someone and did get to confirm the release before it happened. Don't know why you wouldn't get it. To get him back try taking over the team that signed him, release him, take control of your team again and see if he will resign.

The only thing that has happened to me when playing on the phone a few times is hitting intentional walk when I meant to hit throw to first. |

				Workaround...thanks!

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I was able to switch teams and force the player’s release, and then could resign him. Thanks for the walkthrough on that.

I did try releasing a player and got a notification, and I’m sure I did not just miss it last night, as essentially “nothing happened” when I promoted him to the active roster and so I went looking for him. Perhaps a bug that he was released instead? Hopefully won’t see it again, but if I do at least I have a workaround now to try to adjust it, and I’m relieved that a miss-tap on the screen won’t cause me to lose key players in the future (unless I confirm my mistake!) Also tried another experiment as I thought perhaps turning off the phone with the app open (and not having saved) would allow me to go back to an earlier point. Unfortunately that doesn’t defeat the auto-save. Thanks again for the help and advice. |
