Pitcher stamina change

I have a pitching prospect on my fictional team that I drafted with 98 stamina (I use 1-100 ratings) in the first round. It stayed that way for about a year, and all the way till the beginning of the next year (even stayed the same after OSA updated ratings). Then as the season progressed, as he was in the minors his stamina steadily dropped down from 98 to 67. His other ratings (Stuff, movement, control) have slightly dropped but nothing worth worrying about, according to his current potential he'll still turn out to be a great SP. Does this happen randomly, or is he "struggling" in the minors?

Any feedback is appreciated.

I've no clue, and can't find anything in the iOOTP manual that addresses this. I also looked at the OOTP manual, and that was lite as well. I'd really like to understand how this iOOTP works.

Seems like there is a lot under the hood, but I can't figure it out to enjoy the game fully.

I wish I could get it to go the other way. my drafts usually have one good starter and then about 5-6 with great ratings and no stamina. And I've never seen it go up. Down either, I didn't even know it could change.

Ok, so now his stuff has also significantly dropped since OSA updated rankings. On January 1st he was at 56 current with 92 potential. Now (it's early May) he's at 52 current with 76 potential and his potential has dropped 1/2 star. His other potential ratings have dropped 4 or 5.

And now my other pitching prospect that had been taken in the first round 2 years ago by a different team and I traded for has fallen off the face of the Earth. Jan 1: Stuff 41 (50); Movement 56 (64); Control 29 (44). May 11: Stuff 38 (44); Movement 57 (61); Control 28 (35), with a stamina drop from 86 to 79. His potential has gone from 4 star to 1 1/2 star.

Both of these guys have been in the minors all year. Neither of them had the green arrow which meant they were ready (or at least I was told it meant they were ready). Is there a reason for this?

Could both just be busts, I've had it happen a lot. Trade for a 5 tool guy, then he turns into nothing more than a role player (If that). Some guys just never develop or as they are re-evaluated, their potential starts dropping. When I see someone who's potential starts dropping, I usually trade them while they're still rated fairly decently. I've seen guys get playing time and get better, than they were ever rated, but a highly rated guy losing potential is never a good indicator.
