Players Disappearing after I short list them

I'm doing first year player draft and to keep a list of interested draftees I created a draft short list. Many of them disappeared but were not drafted

I think I tried to remove them off short list incorrectly
There is a box by their name on short list and I clicked it thinking I could remove all at once- but those might be the players that disappeared - not sure of this as some of my short list players are still in draft but 2-3 are just gone

1. If dissapeared can i get them back?
2. is there a way to search for player by name?

The box beside the players name is for mass selecting - if you selected these then hit delete, your players have been deleted and are gone.

You take a player off your shortlist the same way you put him on, right/click, then select shortlist from the options. If he's already on your shortlist, you'll be given an option to remove him. If he's not, the option will be there to add him.

Hopefully you remembered to make a back-up of your league.

I save the game each day is that same as a backup?

Unfortunately not as you can't restore from a save, only a backup. Good idea to get in the habit of backing up occasionally (it's in the file drop down below save.) Of course if you didn't really want the players it may not be a big deal.
