Free agent compensation cutoff date?

Does OOTP implement the cutoff date for free agent compensation? I seem to recall that the CBA has provisions for compensation eligible players who are unsigned after a certain date. If so, what is that date?

There is an injured star FA I'm interested in signing, but this player is recovering from a long-term injury which puts his recovery after the All-Star break. Because of this he is still unsigned, so I'm hoping to get a bargain on him for the potential playoff run without losing a draft pick.

I'm fairly sure the date he is no longer comp eligible is the draft day (or the day after).

Tyler is right, immediately after the draft you can sign him. Good luck on your playoff run!
