Minor League Options: 10-Day Rule
In real life, there is a rule that if a player is optioned to the minor leagues, he must remain there for at least 10 days before he is allowed to return to the Major League roster. But in OOTP I found that I'm able to move players (those with option years still remaining) freely between the majors and minors, regardless of how many days they spent on optional assignment. Is there a setting that would enable this rule? Because theoretically, I could take a young starting pitcher and send him to the minors for the 4 days between his MLB starts, thus freeing up a 25-man roster spot, and then call him back up.

This rule is not coded into the game. The Ai doesn't exploit the rule per your example, though it is free to move players without the 10 day wait. Probably not a bad thing as it gives the Ai more options when injuries etc hit.
The Ai plays a pretty good game and is challenging if one plays a "realistic" game of baseball, has some self control, and doesn't try to "game" the AI. As a human player I can't imagine feeling cool about exploiting this to be able to beat the AI. Where is the fun in that? Of course one is free to do as they please. |

The 10-day rule has been around since the mid-1950s. |

If OOTP had a 10-day rule, we'd never have heard of Curtis Borkholder.
